As the sun started to set on the forested hills outside of Silver City the preacher began his service.
"Citizens of our fair city, we are gathered here today to honor the memory of Sam Killian, our hero." The only priest in town stood outside the broken down cathedral, hundreds of people standing in the street bellow him. "This brave young man gave is life and soul to protect us from the unholy corruption of hell. We may not be able to pay our respects in person, but he deserves them none the less. I ask each of you to bow your heads so we may send a prayer of safe passage for Sam on his journey to our lord." People lit candles as the crowd bowed their heads and whispered their own prayers to the savoir they'll never meet.
"Dear lord in heaven, please guide Sam to your kingdom and allow his weary soul the peaceful rest he deserves. Give him a place amongst your angels to watch down upon those he loves. Amen."
Outside the city on a hill over looking the crowded church a small group of people stood around a coffin. Nadia and Kelly simply stood by the coffin holding each others hand. Arizona and Selena stood on the other side. Arizona stepped around to the front of the coffin in his dress uniform and saluted.
"I'm not a religious man and with the stuff you seen I doubt you are too Grim, but ever soldier deserves a parting words. I may have known you that long but you saved my family and that is something I can never repay you for, so I want you to go on knowing I'll do what ever I can to protect yours. Nadia told me how much you enjoyed a good drink so here is one for the road." He pulled a flask from his jacket and poured it out on the ground beside the coffin. Selena just bowed her head and spoke.
"I hope you like it there you obnoxious ass because when I get there I'm kicking your ass for leaving us alone." She said trying to smile. Nadia had no more words for anyone, after spending all night by Grim's side she had gone quiet.
"Good bye big brother." Kelly stepped forwards and kissed the top of the coffin. Her lip mark burst in to flames and the blue fire quickly started to consume the wood. The wind picked up and started to carry the ashes of the shattered city. As the sun set over the ruins of Skyra's castle and Silver City, the wind carried the ashes to every corner of the city so Grim could always keep an eye on the place.

I plan on taking this draft and making some major changes so keep this around for updates on a possible redux. A thanks to all my friends for all the jokes and surprisingly good plot points you guys helped me figure out. And a big thanks to my dad for taking the time to proof read a chapter every now and then when I didn't know if it was good enough.
