"It's smaller than I thought it would be." Nadia said as they reached the center of the castle. The inner circle of the crystal structure was a courtyard that was open to the sky. The sun had been darkened by the opening of the portal and what light did reach past the supernatural eclipse gave off a faint purple glow. The courtyard was filled with black demonic looking trees that covered all of the ground except a crystal platform in the center. Grim carefully worked through the trees, the feeling of a dark presence weighing on him physically.
"It's so good of you to finally join us Grim." A silken voice said from the shadows. Grim stepped onto the crystal and faced Skyra. "My my, you have grown so much since the last time we met." She teased as he tensed. "What's the matter? You don't look happy to see me, you use to have such a nice smile when we met."
"Grim what is she talking about." Nadia questioned.
"Jealousy is an ugly trait Nadia." Skyra said. "All the time we spent together pales to the number of nights I spent with Grim. Besides you got my true form, all he got was a phantom of my true self. Don't you remember the nights when I would sit by your bed after your sister died, how I whispered in your ear, put the knife that ended your life in your hand."
"Shut up!" Grim said blurring at her. He slashed at her but she disappeared before he ever reached her.
"Now Grim, you have to wait, it's not time to fight me yet. Oh Kita, where are you darling?"
"Here master." Said a peppy voice from the trees. A small girl swung from the branches and landed next to Skyra on the other side of the platform.
Her face was concealed by a black sleeveless hoodie. From the shadows under her hood two fierce pink eyes followed his every movement. Grim was distracted by the pair of twitching dog ears poking out of her hood. The only thing she wore besides the hoodie was jeans and a pair of knee length boots.
"Now Kita, I need you to deal with these two while I make the final preparations."
"With pleasure Master."
The swirling tattoos peeled themselves from her skin as a demonic smile spread from the shadows of her hood. Two hell hounds formed from the tattoos, one white and one black. Bracelets on her arms turned to chains and latched themselves to the hounds collars.
"Not so fast." Grim said launching forwards. "I don't have time for this!" He swung Nadia up and her blade went through Kita's stomach and out by her collarbone. He lifted the demon up then slammed her into the ground and Nadia's blade burst out of her chest.
"You're so impatient Grim, Kita was really looking forwards to fighting you and now you've dashed her hopes."
The demon stuck her tounge out as she stood up. Her legs were shaking and she was going to die any second. "Can I show him now master?" Kita asked weakly.
"I guess now that Grim has spoiled all the fun." Kita brought her hands up and pulled off her hood.
"Hi Sam." Kita said before her legs gave out and she toppled over. Grim let Nadia fall out of his hands as he fell to his knees. Small changes may have been made to her features but Grim knew exactly who he had just killed.
"Kelly." he said in utter defeat as his baby sister's lifeless body stared at him.
"Surprise!" Skyra cheered loudly. "She's been waiting so long to see you again, I mean to her it's been four hundreds years since she's last seen you."
Nadia transformed back and crawled backwards till she hit a tree. She pulled her knees to her chest and couldn't look away from Grim. "You used me again, you used me to break my promises again."
"Don't feel bad dearies." Skyra cooed. "If she had won you two would have been the newest part of my army, it was her or you." Grim could hear his heart beating as his vision focused of Skyra.
"I'm going to rip your goddamn head off." He said with a snarl. Skyra smirked as the darkness in Grim's heart started to corruot his mind.
"Do it Grim, give into the hatred flowing through. You know it's the only way you'll ever have the power to defeat me." Nadia stood next to him.
"I won't be used by you ever again!" She screamed as her body broke down into black dust that flowed into Grim.
Grim doubled over clutching at his face screaming. He threw his head up as two black wings ripped out of his back like a pair of skeletal hands. His eyes had turned completely black except for a pulsing blue slit pupil. Scales crept up his arms as the last of his coat was shredded by crystal spines growing from his elbows and shoulders. Shoulder guards formed from the mass of crystal as the transformation spread. Nadia's blade erupted out of the side of his arm and tuned into a massive pendulum blade. The scales traveled down his body and a spiked tail curled around his leg. Crystal armor formed over his chest and he turned to Skyra panting.
"Now you die!" He yelled, his and Nadia's voices speaking at once.
"I'm so proud!" Skyra exclaimed. "You two are more powerful than any of my other creations and you seem to have retained your intelligence. I can't wait to break you down and rebuild you into the perfect soldier. Grim screamed in agony as his body continued to shift around on the inside and set of black spines grew from his temples to past the back of his head. His thoughts combined with Nadia's in a haze that kept them from thinking straight as they lurched Grim's body forwards. Skyra chuckled as she watched their new body stumble, but the smile on her face disappeared as the vanished in the blink of an eye.
Hey everyone I apologize for the length of your wait and this chapter. I'm moving to college tomorrow and it had been rather hectic trying to get everything ready. As always leave a comment and tell me what you think about Demon Grim.
