Being in the Royal city without any one on our tales is refreshing, but also nerve racking. I didn't like knowing weather or not they were coming. And if the Phantoms are relentless as they have been, then why haven't they come?

Maybe they don't have senses like Jay does... Darrion has said that the earlier ones aren't as complete...

I see a shadow cross mine, I look up to meet a shade of emerald green that I'd become very fond of.

"What's wrong," asks Darrion taking a seat next to me, "I know that look."

"I'm unsettled by how calm its been, I'm not used to this especially in the Royal city of all places."

He shakes his head smiling. "Enjoy it, while it lasts while they may know that we are on our way here, but not that we are, so playing on that element of surprise, we're going tomorrow."

I sigh. "Are you sure, we should go so soon? Maybe we should wait... There's something not right."

He brings me to his lap as we sit on my bed, Darrion and I share a room and Avi, Jay, and Ashton were in another.

"We're out of time... There is no other time than now... If we wait any longer then it'll be far too late." He whispers.

The silence settles over us and I take this time to stare a Darrion and really study him for the first time in a while, his hair was definitely longer, now so that it fit into a pony tail at the nape of his neck and he has stumble from not shaving for the past couple of days.

Usually I'd be disgusted but on him, I liked it.

I look around the room and the glimmer of Darrion's twin swords catch my eye, I can see Darrion's aura surrounding it slightly, the silvery glow shimmering.

"Enjoying the new weapon?" I ask.

He looks down at me. "Yes, it's nice to have my swords... Even if they are three years younger."

"Excited to use them?"

"Yes and no... Because that'll mean that we're fighting someone."

He was right, as curious as I was I didn't want to see him use them in that manor.

I place my hand against the side of his face and he doesn't hesitate to pull me in for a deep kiss, it was gentle and slow. But I didn't fail to take my breath away like every time we kissed.

With all of the uncertainty in my life, I am now sure that he is the one sure thing in it.

He's the one.

Now, and forever.

The next morning we are all up at the crack of dawn, moving across the empty cobblestone streets towards the palace. But there is something wrong.

There are no guards, anywhere, and you'd think that since we're so close to the castle there'd be some patrolling, but nope, not a person around.

And it didn't help that there is mist surrounding the whole area.

"I've never been in this far, but aren't there supposed to be guards this close to the royals?"

"Yes... There usually are." Answers Darrion, still looking forward. He usually looked back at me when he talked so that was a little weird.

"Ashton, are you sure this is the right way? Where the entrance is?"

He turns his head back to look at me. "Yes I found it on the map, last night! Just trust me Amb!"

Silence falls around us again and I feel a violent shiver run up my spine.

"Phantoms!" Exclaims Jay.

And then suddenly there is a circle of shadowy figures around us and a light red glow emanating from Avi's bag.

He looks at us in confusion.

What is going on?

"What is that?" Asks Jay.

I turn to Darrion. "What should we do? It's like they knew we were coming."

He doesn't say anything, he just stares at Ashton. "It's alright, they can't do anything until ordered,"

I raise one eyebrow at him.

"Everything has fallen into place, Isn't that right, Ashton?"
