Chapter 13

Hayes's POV

Me and Harleen had been dating for 2 weeks and she was all I could ever ask for. Knowing I could finally touch her and kiss her without hesitation was great. I was sitting in my bed going through my twitter. I looked up from my phone and saw Harleen on her bed. Her body was shaking up and down like she was crying. I bolted off my bed and ran out the door. I ran straight into her house without knocking and opened her door. I could hear her sobs as she sat on the bed. "Harleen what's wrong?" I asked softly as I walked wrapping my arms around her. She just turned around and buried her head in my chest. I lifted her head up. "Breath slowly" I instructed. She nodded and slowed down her breathing. "Okay now tell me what's wrong" I said kissing her forehead. "D-do you know what day it is?" She asked softly. I shook my head. She opened her mouth to speak " September 3rd the day that Lia Bansoota was murdered. One day before her birthday". I understood now. Today was the day her mom had died. I held her tighter. "But that's not the reason" she said." The reason is I'm afraid something is going to happen to you or my dad". I looked at her. She had stopped crying and now was just staring into space. "Hayes I feel safer with you that my own dad, I can't even imagine what I would do without you." She said. "I can't take another loss Hayes it broke me and you helped me pick up the pieces but if it happens again I'll shatter and stay that way". I looked at her. I felt so bad. This girl deserved all the happiness in the world and instead all she got was sadness. I kissed her lips gently and said " Don't worry baby girl I'll be here as long as you need me". I know she loved being called baby girl. She sighed and put her head against my chest.

Harleen's POV

"Don't worry baby girl I'll be here as long as you need me" said Hayes softly into my ear. I loved it when he called me that. I put my head against his chest. I felt protected. Hayes did that to me. He made me feel like anything could happen in the world but I could carry on strong. I looked up and put my lips to his. He kissed me back softly at first then hard. He pulled away and kissed my jaw then my neck. A moan slipped from my mouth and he grinned. He brought his lips back to mine and I kissed him harder than before. He bit my lip gently asking for entrance and I parted my lips letting him in. I pulled away and looked at him. "Thank you" I said. He mocked sadness. "Why do you pull away when it just gets good?". I grinned. "You got earn in babe" I said. He wrapped his arms around me from behind and gently started sucking my neck. I closed my eyes and moaned then snapped back to reality. "Hey I told you- earn it" I said pulling him off me. I looked in the mirror where he had sucked. Sure enough there it was. A big red blotch. Hayes grinned at my expression. I glared at him. He smiled " you know you like it besides that shows that you belong to me" he said. I grinned at his posessivness. "It's okay babe I won't ever be anyone else's". "Say that again" he said. "What?"I said. "What did you call me?" He said. I blushed. How did I let that slip? I mentally smacked myself. "Babe" I said softly. He grinned. "Damnnnnn baby girl you just get better and better." I felt the heat rising up in my cheeks. Then the phone rang. I ran to go get it. I picked it up. "Hello?" I said. I heard a familiar voice. "Hey honey could you babysit Sky please for the night- you can sleep over if you have too?" Said Liz. I nodded "Oh if course I ll be over in 2 minutes" I said. Before I hung up I heard Liz say "and tell Benjamin Hayes Grier to come home." I laughed and hung up the phone. I walked back into the room and told Hayes we could hang out at his house because if Sky. I grabbed his hand and we walked to his house. I entered and let go of his hand immediately because know one new that we were official. I heard footstep and then a Skylynn crashed right into me. "Harleen's here!" She yelled. I hugged her back and kissed her forehead. " Yah we ard gonna have so much fun right princess?" I said. She nodded her head and then ran away. I saw Liz walk in a hurry to the door. She thanked me and left to work. I looked at Hayes "Home alone" I said. He smirked " don't give me any ideas" he said as he leaned in and pecked me in the lips. I heard a cough. Shit. I heard the deep voice of Nash say " umm sorry I was just wondering if you guys were gonna watch TV upstairs or down?". "Downstairs" Hayes said. Nash nodded and awkwardly left the room. Hayes and I looked at each other and laughed. During the night we watched secretariat because it was Skylynn's favorite movie. By the time it was done she was sleeping and me and Hayes were pretty much bored to death. I carefully picked up Skylynn while Hayes turned off the TV and took her to bed. I heard Hayes walk in to the room. "Let's go to my room" he said. I nodded and we went to his room. We sat on his bed and he opened his laptop. We watched some YouTube but we were constantly interrupted by my moving around. I was in jeans and they were the most uncomfortable things to lay in. Hayes got up " you wanna change into something of mine?" He asked. I nodded gratefully. He opened his drawer. "Boxers or sweatpants?" He asked. "Boxers" I said. He passed them to me with a black shirt. He turned away and I quickly changed into them. He looked at me and I saw list in his eyes. His boxers were bright pink so I probably looked like the most retarded person on the planet. We climbed back onto the bed and I rested my head on his shoulder. We were listening to Drake and I closed my eyes and before I fell asleep I thought I heard Hayes say "I love you" but as much as I trusted him he was a player. I drifted off to sleep telling myself I had imagined it.
