Hayes' POV
"Damn baby girl, you can play ball cant you?" I said whistling at Harleen. She looked at me and smiled her beautiful smile. Her face was glistening with sweat because she was practicing so vigorously. Ever since she moved she had been determined to make the junior team, so, everyday we went to the community center and practiced. I practiced because I wanted to spend time with her and she practiced to get better. "Hayes what time is it?" asked Harleen. "One O'clock I think why?"
"Oh shit. Hayes we have to go." she said as her face went chalk white.
"Why?"
"I promised your mom I would spend time with Skylynn before she went to the doctors today so she wouldn't be as nervous". She said. I started to laugh. If that was all she was worried about then it wasn't a big deal.I told her we could play longer but she kept saying we had to go so we started to head back home. I held her hand the whole way because over the past few months it had become a necessity for me to touch her. As we were walking I noticed a young guy staring at Harleen. I wrapped my arm around her waist eager to show him she was taken...by me. I couldn't shake the feeling that I had seen him somewhere. Putting the thought aside I turned and gave my full attention to Harleen again because lately she was all that mattered.
Unknown POV
There they were. Walking home from the community center as if nothing else mattered. The boy is looking at me. Why is he looking at me? I hold his gaze trying to show him who's boss. He wraps his arm around her waist and gives me smug look. He doesn't know what hes doing. hes just making it worse for himself. I'm going to wipe that smug look off his face pretty damn soon. If I couldn't get Harleen, neither could he.
