Artemis woke up the next morning with anxiety hitting her like a brick to the face. She was home schooled all her life, she didn't know how to react to a bunch of mundane teens running around worrying about their homework. She was used to teenage demon hunters worrying about their knives and which rune does what. And those were completely different things.
Artemis chose a burgundy dress that was about an inch above the knee, a black leather jacket, and a pair of black round toe lace up booties. And she couldn't forget her gold skinned, ruby red eyed snake whip. She put on light make-up(meaning eye-shadow, eye-liner, and mascara.)and pale pink lip gloss.
"Artemis! Hurry up Maryse left for the hospital and we are late for school! Come on, lets go!" Alec yelled at the girl. Artemis and Alec would always fight like brother and sister. Maybe because they were. "Alright, alright I'm coming! Don't get your knickers in a twitch." Artemis replies. She rushes down the stairs-thank goodness that she was on the second floor-and grabs an apple and rushes to the car completely forgetting her bag. "Don't worry I got it for you." Isabelle hands Artemis her bag. Artemis thanks Isabelle and buckles up and the shadowhunter children drive off to school.
When they reach the school they went to the office and got their schedules only to see that they missed first period and second started in twenty minutes. Thankfully some of the children had classes together. "Me and Isabelle have the same classes." Artemis states as they all walk to their lockers which were conveniently all by each other. She was thankful to have her parabati with her through all of her classes.
Sadly the others and the parabati's would only have one class and lunch together. But it wasn't a total loss, they all do live with each other. "Okay well Artemis and I are going to economy, it starts in five minutes." The girls rush to their second period and when Artemis got through the door she went straight for the last seat in the second row and Isabelle in the last seat in the first row.
Artemis opens her bag and gets her notebook out, and when she finally finds her pencil in her "organized" bag some one bumped into her and made her drop the pencil. "Oh, I'm so sorry... Um.. Oh here's your pencil.." A boy with a puppy like face was the one who made Artemis drop her pencil. The boy was lost for words when he first locked eyes with Artemis. 'She's absolutely beautiful.' The boy thought. "Thank you." Artemis says to the boy with the puppy face. "Your welcome.." "Oh Artemis. Artemis Nightshade." "Scott. Scott McCall." Artemis smiles at Scott.
Isabelle notices the two staring at each other and barges in before Artemis says something she'll regret, because it is very clear Artemis I liking Scott McCall more than she should. "Hello, I'm Isabelle Lightwood. Artemis and I are cousins and we moved here with some more cousins and my mom moved in yesterday from, New York." Scott smiles and says, "Well I hope you'll stay in Beacon Hills for awhile, and I hope to see you two soon." But Scott was looking at Artemis the whole mini conversation. Artemis gives a shy smile and looks down.
Scott sits down and Isabelle looks at Artemis like she just won the lottery. Why. Because Artemis finally found a by who was cute and sweet. Most of the guys that approach Artemis are douche bags, not cute, sweet, puppy looking boys. "We're talking about this when we get home!" Isabelle whispers into Artemis's ear making sure that Scott-who was sitting right in front of Artemis's seat-couldn't hear, but because of his werewolf hearing he heard it all.
After second period came third, then fourth, then fifth, and then finally lunch. "Hey guys." Artemis says to the other shadowunters. "Hey Art." Alec says. Art is a nick name they use to irritate Artemis. Usually Artemis would care but since she met Scott McCall. "Artemis. Artemis!" Jace says. "Yeah?" "Well I was talking to you but you zoned out. Anyways, Maryse wants us to stop by the hospital after school for a bit." Artemis nods and goes back to thinking about Scott
