When they got back to the institute, Artemis was filled with anxiety, wonder, and confusion. She knew she was something supernatural because of the way, Maryse had reacted! Maryse had worry and fear written across her face. She knew, Artemis was in trouble, and when her power comes to its full potential... Pandemonium would come for the Shadowhunters and the McCall pack. "Maryse?! What's going on?!" Artemis was in the verge of tears, as they all sat down in the library. Maryse told her in a soft voice, "Artemis, honey you need to clam down." But the brunette couldn't calm down. Isabelle took Artemis's hand in hers and squeezed it as a sign of reassurance. "It'll be okay." Clary whispered.

"Maryse, please. Please just tell me!" Artemis finally said. "You are..supernatural, Artemis. So was your mother. To be honest, I'd think she'd be better at telling something like this to you." Maryse took a breath. "You're an Amarok." Artemis was confused. What the heck was an Amarok?! Just as Artemis was about to ask, it was like Maryse read her mind! "An Amarok, is a type of werewolf. They are not under control of the full moon. They do not look like for example, Scott McCall in his wolf form, and they are not like Luke's pack. Amarok's are very powerful. They are huge! About as tall as Jace when their in full wolf form on all fours some even taller," Artemis was amazed at how big Maryse described them! Jace was about 6'1, she couldn't believe it!

"Legends say that they stalk and devour any person who goes out-or hunts-alone. Now your mother, Artemis...Was a Shadowhunter and an Amarok, like yourself. I never thought I would have to tell you this. I thought your mother would live to tell the tales of the, Amarok. Your mother was hoping you would just be a normal baby being raised into an amazing Shadowhunter! But once you are born she could smell your wolf already. Surprisingly, the Clave didn't find out and hopefully never will, but your mother and father knew you would be strong, powerful, and possibly dangerous. They knew it was risky to keep you. But they did, and they loved you endlessly. An-and when that greater demon," Maryse stopped for a second to wipe her eyes and take a deep breath, "came into your home. It was after you, Artemis. Some demons knew about your abilities and are after you. Your parents tried everything they could but the demon was to strong. They wanted to tell you, but they thought you would be in more danger if they did. Th-they really loved you, Artemis. I hope you know that."

When Artemis heard this, she started crying. She was happy that her parents were trying to protect her and yes she was mad they didn't tell her about this ability. But the sadness and grief took over that anger and happiness. She was saddened that they had to die the way they did, she wished it was her instead of them. "I know this is very hard to take in. But you need to keep your heart rate steady, okay? If not, you could shift and that would not be good if to say it was at school." "Maryse? How long since you've known I would turn into an Amarok? Like when am I supposed to change?" Artemis asked.

"Well. After your seventeenth birthday. And that has passed, so you should show signs soon." Maryse replied. It was only late March. Maybe it took a little while to shift, Artemis thought. "Well, we will keep you safe, Artemis. No matter what." Said Jace. All the Shadow hunters nodded. "Maryse? Do you think I could start trying to shift?" "Well, it's not a bad idea! We can try tonight is you would like. Now I don't know how to explain this to you. So I'm going to call my friend, the Druid to help." Artemis nodded, wanting something to get her mind off of her parents. "You should bring extra clothes. If somehow you do shift tonight, you'll need them." Artemis was confused. Why would she need extra clothes if she shifts?

When they got to a safe place in the woods, Maryse calls the Druid and tells him where they are. When the Druid-a dark skinned man maybe in his late 40's and another man, a werewolf with forest green eyes and olive toned skin-came to help Artemis shift. "Hello, I am Dr. Deaton, this is Derek Hale, he's going to help you shift." Artemis smiled and nodded and thank you to them. "I think you could probably shift soon, if you keep trying. Since you might be the most powerful Amarok since time." Derek started. "Wait, what?! How?" Artemis asked. "Because when you were born your wolf could instantly be smelled by another wolf-your mother. Usually you can only smell their wolf once they have first shifted." Maryse finished. Artemis nodded.

Before they left the institute Maryse made Artemis change into clothes that she didn't like. So Artemis-if she shifts-wouldn't rip her good clothes. "So how am I supposed to do this?" She didn't know what to do. How was she just somehow supposed to turn into a giant wolf, just like that? But what she was thinking was, how did her mother do it?

"Well from my experience, it was the full moon and also if we get mad. But because, your not exactly the same kind of werewolf, you'll have to try and find your inner wolf." Derek explained. "You can do this, Artemis!" Isabelle said while clapping her hands together. Artemis gives a small smile and asks, "So, how am I supposed to "find my inner wolf"?" "Well look inside yourself. Maybe try to think of a wolf. Or even your mother." Artemis nodded and started, finding her wolf.

After maybe, two hours with no luck of finding her wolf, Artemis started to give up. She didn't know how to do this?! Literally three hours ago she found out her mother was a giant wolf and so was she! She just felt overwhelmed with everything. Yes she did want to quit, but then again she wanted to keep going. For her mother. For her parents.

"Artemis, honey? Do you want to try tomorrow?" A concerned Maryse Lightwood asked the girl. Even though Artemis looked tired and done, she just shook her head no and continued trying. "Artemis, I think you need a break!" Said Clary. Artemis couldn't have a break! "No! I have to do this!" Artemis voice started turning into a growl. "I have. To do this. For them!" She yelled and she felt her bones starting to break. Artemis screamed in pain and the young Shadowhunters ran to her but Maryse stopped them. "Don't! She's shifting!" They all watched as the young girl soon turned into a huge wolf!

Her wolf was black with white tips at the end of the fur. And Artemis's once deep brown eyes, turned a beautiful light blue! Her runes showed up on her fur and was a silver color, and on the top of her head was a crescent moon. "Wow." Was all anyone could say! Artemis was confused. She didn't know she had turned into a wolf. She looked down expecting to see hands and feet, but what she saw were two paws and she looked around, everyone seemed to be in awe. 'What?' She said. But all that came out was a rough bark, and that's when Artemis knew she had found her wolf.

So you guys know what Artemis is now! I know it's basically just a big wolf, but I'm actually planing somethings for the future so yeah! But I hope you guys liked this chapter!!!
