"Artemis..."

"Artemis..."

The familiar voice said over and over again. Artemis looked around searching for the thing calling her name. She walked through millions of trees until she reached a lake. "Artemis..." The voice said again. "Who is it! Who's there?" Artemis yelled out. "Artemis, don't you remember me?" Artemis turned around to see her mother. "M-mom?" Tears formed in her eyes as she saw the figure. "Yes, sweetie. It's me." Artemus let out a sob and immediately hugged her mother.

"Mom? What's going on, am I dead?" Artemis missed her mother so, but she hoped she was dreaming and not actually dead. "Oh no, sweetie! You're just dreaming," Her mother caressed Artemis's face wiping away the tears. "You're going to wake up soon but... I needed to speak with you and I thought now would be the best time." Artemis looked to her mother in confusion, "What did you need to speak with me about?" "Your powers. Artemis, soon your powers are going to be so strong... Magnus, your friends, or that journal won't be able to help you."

"But mom what am I supposed to do? There's non of our kind left, it's just me!" Artemis stared at her mother with a hard look. "No, Artemis you're wrong! There are more! Not many but enough to help you! Artemis, there is a whole pack." Artemis' eyes grew bigger. "Where?!" "Calm down, Artemis! Don't worry where they are. You need to worry about your friends. Don't worry when they'll come either. They'll come to you." Artemis nodded. "Oh no! It's time. I have to go and you need to wake up."
"No! Mom! Please, stay a little longer. Please!" Artemis pleaded with her mother tears coming down. "Artemis, baby I need to go. But remember I'll always be with you, okay?" Artemis yelled for her mother, "MOM! NO, MOM PLEASE!!"

With a jolt Artemis woke up breathing heavy. "Artemis? Are you okay?" Isabelle held onto The girls' shoulder trying to get here attention. "Y-yeah?" Artemis finally listening. "Why were you screaming?" "Oh, um.." Artemis started, trying to think of a lie. Yes she told Isabelle everything but this dream she had, she wanted to keep it to herself. "I just had a nightmare of my parents again." Yes that was half a lie, she did have nightmares sometimes about her parents, but it wasn't what she had dreamed. Isabelle hugged Artemis believing the lie. "It's okay."

"How long was I out?" Artemis asked her adopted family. "Just a couple hours don't worry." Artemis nodded. A "Ding" sounded from Isabelle's phone. "Oh, Scott just texted me. Kira found Brett and want us to meet at an abandoned warehouse." They all nodded and started gathering weapons that might be needed. Artemis got up to change when Maryse stopped her. "And where do you think you're going?" She asked Artemis, holding her by the shoulders. "I'm going with you guys to help." Artemis said trying to pass Maryse. "No, you're not. You just woke up, you're not going to get yourself injured again." "Maryse, I'm going whether you like it or not!" Artemis yelled. Maryse and the others were taken back. Artemis doesn't usually yell. "What has gotten into you? Is it that time of the month or is it just because of your new werewolf powers?" Jace asked her. Artemis rolled her eyes, "I'm sorry. And no I am not on "it" right now. And I'm pretty sure it's the werewolf thing, and I'm sorry. I just want to help." "It's fine.. Just please, watch yourself." Maryse told her and left to get ready.

Artemis got dressed in a black crop top, leather jeans, leather combat boots, and a black leather jacket. She brought an extra bag to put in her car just in case she shifts tonight. "You all ready to go?" The Shadowhunters nodded and left. When they reached the warehouse, they could already tell that if any assassins came, it would be hard to find them through these tarps in the dark. They went in zigzags until they were met with Brett Talbott, a beta. The boy growled at them thinking they were a threat. "Brett! Stop, they're friends!" When Artemis heard Scotts voice her face lit up like a Christmas tree. "Scott!" She ran to hug him. "Hey! You're okay!" Scott kissed her on the lips and Artemis smiled. "Yeah, I woke up not to long ago." Artemis didn't want to worry him by saying, oh, I just woke up twenty minutes ago! Scott nodded and hugged her again.
"So, Scott is it just us?" Jace asked looking around. "No. Actually a friend of mine should be coming soon." Scott replied to Jace. "Who?" Artemis asked." Chris argent." Artemis nodded. "Okay so how are-" Clary was cut off with the sound of Brett growling once more at an intruder. "Wait, Brett! This is his place! It's his." Scott grabbed Brett by the arm getting his attention. Brett looked at Chris holding a gun once more before turning around to stand with his sister. "Scott, if you bring guest you could've told me." Said Chris lowering the gun. "We didn't have anywhere else to take them." Scott replied. "I know this man. He may not remember, but we have met." Satomi-The alpha of Brett and one of the eldest alpha's in Beacon Hills-said. "You can trust him." Scott said to Satomi in a reassuring voice.

"We trust him." "How do we know he's not like the others?" Satomi questioned. "What others?" Kira pulled out an arrow that were shot at her the night before. "Last night therre was a whole team after them, I got there just in time, they were using crossbows." Kira said giving him the arrows. "They're hunters aren't they?" Scott asked. "Not if they're killing for profit. Not anymore." Chris replied. "Can they find us?" Brett asked coming forwards. "They might already know your here. Maybe they're waiting for dark." Chris answered the beta. "So we're not safe here?" Artemis asked him holding Scott's hand. "We're not safe anywhere. We've been trying to get out for days. Everywhere we turn, we find someone knew trying to kill us." Satomi said. "If they're coming, they're coming for you." Chris said pointing to Scott.

"And there going to be coming for Artemis too, she's the highest target on the list right now on the dead pool." Scott said bringing Artemis closer to him. Chris noticed this and smiled. Not because the girl could get killed, but because Scott had finally moved on from his daughter, Allison. "Well you two are the highest on the list." "We know. I know Lydia can get the answer from Meredith. She just needs more time." Scott told Chris. "Then that's ehat she'll get." Soon everyone started getting ready for the assassins.

I'm updating today because it's Monday, why not. But really, I most likely won't be able to update this book or any of the others I'm writing, because I have Band and choir contest... And I really have to spend most of my free time working on those because my band director wants us to learn two pieces we haven't even played by the end of the week... So I hope you can forgive me! But I hope you all like this chapter, though it kind of sucks, lol. vote/comment/follow :)))
