Who I am

Ending: Graduation day

My hands were shaking and I could feel people's cold staring eyes scanning me. I sat with Blake, Tyler and Nathan. I wasn't nervous for graduation, I was nervous because the police informed me my dad was out of prison to watch me graduate ad that he was going back after. I was scared he would try something and make a fool of himself and of me. Harvey saw me shaking so took my hand and rubbed it, this calmed me a little bit I still couldn't keep my eyes off of the police car that was containing my father until all students were seated.
My heart jumped out of my chest when the head teacher spoke into the microphone.
"Don't be so panicky, the police have it under control" Harvey whispered while putting his arm round me. I rested my head on his shoulder and suddenly felt calm.
Each person was called up one by one, when my class was announced the police opened the door and my dad stood beside the car. He's eyes locked with mine, I looked away. Harvey's name was called. I put on a fake smile and waited for my name to be called, when it was I walked up and shook the heads hand before joining Nathan. My dad was actually smiling?
The ceremony lasted a little longer before we could all leave, everyone had been invited to Josh's for a party but I said I'd pass. This was it... I could do anything, where to start? No matter what there was one thing I was certain of, Nathan was going to be in it.

12 years later
"I'm going now!" Nathan yelled while spinning the keys for his car on his index finger.
"I'm coming! Dad chill!" Sasha yelled.
"Sweetie don't talk to your father like that!" I snapped instantly. Young children need teaching right? Sasha stormed out, nathan rolling his eyes and following. I however was polishing the house. I wiped the dust of the fireplace and then off of a picture frame of the day Sasha was born.
Nathan and I had a kid when I was 21, Sasha, she's 7 and is top of her class. I have a job as an interior decorator and Nathan's the person who owns the nearest airport. We have more than enough money to get by on and are hoping to have another child soon.
While I was cleaning I saw a note in the side 'get a babysitter from 7-10 tonight, Nx' I wonder what this is about. I can't believe he still calls him a babysitter, Harvey always looks after Sasha, she calls him uncle H. I rang him and he said he could tonight. I finished up the cleaning and ran upstairs. We still live in my dads house, I cleared out the study and made a room for Sasha. I haven't been in dads room since he got locked away. The police said he's not coming out for a long time. I opened my wardrobe and pulled out a black dress that came a little above my knees, I'll wear this tonight. Seen as nobody's home I decided to take a bath. I have a relaxing day ahead.

It's 6:54 and Harvey pulled into the drive. As soon as he walked in the door Sasha and I ran and hugged him. When he finally peeled us off Nathan offered a friendly handshake which Harvey took. I gave Sasha the rules and Harvey takeaway money before hurrying out the door.
After 10 minutes of driving we reached the most expensive restaurant in the local area. "Table for two please" Nathan said.
"Right this way" they said.
After we ordered they brought champagne to our table and poured it for us.
I got lamb Nathan got steak. The food was delicious and just before we ordered pudding Nathan got on one knee and asked the question is been waiting for. "Will you marry me?" I nodded and kissed him. We payed and forgot about pudding. It was nearly 10 so we hurried home, Harvey left after we got home, I planned to tell him tomorrow.
We tucked Sasha in and then got in our bed. I lay in the dark staring at the ring in my hand. In that moment I know that this is who I am and this is who I want to be. Nobody will change that for the world.
