"i don't want them to leave," michael told luke as he was getting ready for bed.

"neither do i. but they have too. or they are going to go up for adoption." he went back to the bed, sitting down next to michael.

"i know," michael sighed, "when is calum coming in?"

"what's today?"

"uh, it'll be thursday when we wake up."

"he's coming in on monday."

"good, means we can have some alone time." michael kissed luke's jaw.

"can't wait." luke was about to kiss michael, when the door creaked open. he heard sniffles.

"pookie." luke got off his bed and went over to rose.

"princess, what's wrong?"

"i don't wanna leave." she wiped the straying tears on her cheeks off.

"awe, rose. you have to."

"katie doesn't want to leave either." luke heard the bed bounce up when she said that.

"katie's crying?"

"y-yeah."

"luke, get katie." luke did as was told and put rose on the bed with michael before going to get katie.

he walked softly down the hallway before reaching rose and katie's room. he heard soft sobs coming from the room and saw light shining through underneath the door. he slowly creaked open the door, making sure not to disturb her.

"katie?" she turned around, wiping away the tears and snot off her face.

"yes?" luke walked over to her. he crouched down to her height.

"hey, why are you crying?"

"i don't want to go, i want to stay here at home." that broke luke's heart.

"you have to, you have no choice."

"i want michael." he picked her up and took her to him. he let go of rose and took hold of katie.

"i don't want to leave."

"i know, angel. i know." he kissed her forehead will comforting her.

"i'm going to miss you," katie said. michael had a tear streaming down his face.

"i'm going to miss you so much, katie." michael held her so close, and so did she.

"i have an idea." luke spoke up.

"what is it, pookie?"

"how about we have a sleepover? like movies, junk food, sleeping in the living room. it'll be fun."

"please!?" katie begged. luke nodded. the two girls smiled, and so did the two boys.

"which movie, inside out or home?" luke asked the two girls who were laying on their stomachs in front of the tv with a slice of pizza and some candy.

"inside out!" the girls said. luke nodded and put it in the dvd player. luke waited for the commercials to pass before hitting play and going over to sit on thee couch with michael. luke let michael lay on his lap.

"how are you, baby? are you okay?" luke asked quietly, not interrupting the girls' movie.

"i've been better. but i'm holding up. how are you, love?"

"i'm barely holding it together, we'll have a talk once the girls leave tomorrow." luke kissed michael's forehead and michael smiled.

"i love you so much."

"i love you so much more, mikey." luke drew tiny circles with his fingers on michael's arm while watching the movie.

towards the end of the movie, they heard snores coming from the two girls in front of the tv. they smiled as they got off the couch and turned off the movie, kissed their foreheads and went to bed.

"okay, we're here." luke told the girls in back seat as they parked in the airport parking lot. the girls were playing on their new phones that the child services bought them to keep in touch. they sighed, dreading this moment.

luke carried rose's suitcase and also held rose on his hip. michael did the same with katie. each child had an agent that was riding the plane with them and will live with them for a few months and will send daily check ups to both michael and luke. the agents were meeting the girls by security.

"i really don't want to go," rose whispered. luke sadly smiled at her. he kissed her for head and tried to not let the tears fall.

"you have to, we've been over this." she huffed out air through her nose and laid her head on luke's shoulder.

they walked for about 15 minutes before finding a sign at security saying "rose hemmings" and other saying "katherine clifford". the two boys looked at each other and then at the girls.

"i want you to call me once you get off the flight and everyday before you go to sleep. okay, princess?" luke said. rose nodded, tears were in her eyes. luke put her down and handed her her suitcase.

"make sure you call or text me everyday and if anything goes wrong. also call me once you've landed. i love you so much angel." michael put katie down and handed the suitcase to her.

the agent took rose's hand. before walking into security, rose stopped her. she ran back to luke and hugged his legs. "i love you pookie."

luke couldn't hold it anymore, he sobbed and bent down to hug her.

"i love you to the moon and back, princess." he kissed her head one more time before she went over to michael.

"i'm going to miss you mikey, i love you." she kissed his cheek as he hugged her, tears streaming down both of their faces. katie ran over to luke and hugged him.

"thank you for saving me. i love you." she whispered. luke hugged her tightly before the agents said they had to leave. the girls let go and hugged each other.

"i love you, katie."

"i love you too, rose." they kissed each other's cheeks before going to separate security lines.

the drive home was silent. filled with nothing but dead silence. it scared michael, honestly. he'd never seen luke so quiet. michael tried holding his hand but he moved it away, putting it on the steering wheel. once they got home, he went into total breakdown mode.

"why?! why does everything down."

"my everything is gone, michael! she's all i've had for all of high school!! she's my whole world!" luke collapsed in michael's arms, sobbing into his chest. he mumbled "she's gone, she's gone" over and over again through choking sobs.

"shh, you'll be okay. we'll be okay." michael felt tears streaming down his face as he held luke closer to him, only wanting him.

"do you want to cuddle and listen to sad music while eating pizza?" michael asked as he rubbed his hand up and down his arm. luke nodded slightly. they walked up the stairs together, well michael rolled, and went into their room.

"i'll order the pizza. you calm down for a bit. i'll be back." he kissed the blonde boy's forehead and rolled out of the room.
