Chapter 8: late nights

ARIAS POV:
I waited up all night it was about 1 am Ezra never showed. we were suppose to go have a drink downstairs. just one. I woke up to hearing a knock on the door. I looked at my phone to see what time it was. it's 3am. I went and unlocked it. "finally you came. I didn't think you'd ever come." I smiled softly. He led the way down the stairs. we got to the bar we ordered a drink then we went back upstairs. as I walked in my room my phone was ringing it was a FaceTime from Liam. I answered. "I didn't think you were up." "yeah I've been up working on papers." I glanced over to a disturbed Ezra. "I see well I just wanted to call and tell you I miss you. I can't wait to bring you here for good. it's so beautiful. only a few more days. I love you I'll let you get back to your work." "I miss you too. love you." I ended the call and sighed and fell back on the bed. "your leaving?" "I am." "you shouldn't leave." "and whys that?" I grinned. "because your family's here." "I know." I sighed. " but five years away from them changes you." I said. "Ezra?" "What?" "nothing just its that- nothing. I'm tired. we can work on your book tomorrow. you can stay since we aren't drunk." I laughed. "aria there's no where to sleep but in this chair." "and the couch but you can sleep up here." I turned the light off and quickly fell asleep.

EZRAS POV:
it was 6am and Aria was asleep I rolled over to be facing her. I whispered "I still love you." I knew she didn't hear. nor would I care if she did. I just needed it off my chest.

ARIAS POV:
I woke up the next morning to Ezra on the opposite side of the bed with his back facing me. I got up and ordered room service. he woke up and came and sat down and ate with me as I watched the morning news. I went and got in the shower.

EZRAS POV:
Aria got a text while she got in the shower. "hey babe just wanted to let you know I finished everything earlier then expected. I still don't have to be back till Friday so we can leave then or sooner. I'll be at the hotel around 1. I made reservations at the restaurant downstairs I made enough to where you can invite 8 people to dinner. reservations are at 8. Wear something nice. maybe that tightly fitted dress that I like. the black one. don't forget those heels that match it that I love to come home to after a long day at work." I ignored his comments about her dress and heels and realized it was noon. Aria came out in a robe she read the message and replied. "hey well I should go." "Ok and wait hey you always talk about how you wanna meet Liam why don't you join us for dinner tonight? bring Nicole." "yeah sounds like a plan. see you tonight." I said shutting the door.

ARIAS POV:
it's time for me to leave to dinner and I'm nervous. Me and Liam walked downstairs together to the restaurant. we sat down and Hanna and Jordan walked in along with Emily. Allison showed up with her fiancée. then spencer showed up. Then of course here comes ezra arm and arm with Nicole. They sat right across from me. it was awkward for them to sit in front of me. the way Nicole would whisper in his ear would get to me. I stayed silent for while. finally Liam nudged me when the waitress showed. "uh you order for me." I smiled. "we'll take two steaks rare. thanks." I sighed quietly to myself knowing I wasn't a big fan of steak or a blood dripping one atleast. I looked up to be in contact with Ezra. I got a text I looked under the table at my phone. "I thought you were never a huge fan of steak?" it was Ezra. I looked back up. I shrugged my shoulders and moved on. Half way through dinner Allison and her husband had to go and Hannah's fiancée left.

EZRAS POV:
Aria really has changed its weird. after some people left. I saw the way Liam looked at her. I watched the way he kissed her neck and whispered things in her ear and made her laugh. it bugged me yes. "well Ezra it's just you and me. wanna join me for a drink over at the bar and leave the ladies to talk?" Liam asked. I looked at Aria as she looked at me in surprise and the. Turned to face Liam. "yeah let's go." I got up and pushed in my chair as I watched Aria begin to freak out. she didn't show it I just always knew when she was. I walked towards the bar and ordered a drink with Liam we sat there for a few minutes in silence. "look at them." he said I turned my bar chair in the same direction he was looking at the girls. "we're two lucky guys." "yeah we are." I responded. "so liam how'd you do it? how'd you propose?" "well I did it at a family party of hers. I pulled her up on stage and I gave her this speech and I asked." "I bet she liked that. so do you fish?" "she doesn't tell you a lot about me does she? she tells me a lot about you. just she's always hesitant over telling me about it. I'm not sure why. she's a great girl. when she talks she doesn't hold anything back but when you come up she's silent. she's not Aria. she changes and I've never understood why. sometimes I tell myself to quit talking about you but now that we're here and your here and every time I leave I can't help but think she still has these feelings for you. Do you for her? What does Nicole think of her?" "honestly? no. well Nicole thinks that when I look at her I see someone else. So yeah." I sipped on my whiskey and looked back at Liam. "why so many questions?" "I just wanna know why you let go of something so amazing." "I thought that's what she wanted." "you know when I met her she was scared to love me she told me. Then she told me she built her walls up again and she ended up having to let them down for me. But now it's like she's cold again. why is this place so cold. why does it make her cold." "you know I should go. I'll see you soon." I said. I got up and walked to the table I grabbed Nicole by the hand and walked out.

Happy Labor Day!! I didn't plan on updating today but I thought I should in honor of today. does anyone have any predictions for the next chapter? it's already written so I thought I should ask (:
