Chapter 26: piece of my heart

ARIAS POV:
It's been two days since I've seen or talked to Ezra in his office. he's so weird about everything now. Ezra texted me "sorry I've been so distant lately. I've caught up on all my work, I'll try and stop by later." I didn't know how to respond so I didn't. then my mom called and invited me to dinner. she said to invite Hanna and the girls and their dates if they'd like. she told me to bring Ezra. but I wasn't sure.

EZRAS POV:
I asked Ella to invite Aria to dinner because I didn't want her suspicious. Aria ignored my text. I decided I'd go to her apartment. she opened it and some guy was in her living room. I was shocked. but he was holding a book and a portfolio, writing things down. but by the looks of it the two had lunch and wine together. "Um I'll come back, wait are you free tonight?" "actually I'm not. um stay for a bit, mr. davis was just about to leave." I kindly stepped back and left the man leave. "who was that?" "are you jealous?" she smirked. "I don't get jealous." "he's just here to talk about what's the next step with the book on my coffee table." "oh but will you go on a date with me?" "I'm sorry?" she asked putting the plates in the sink. "tonight, restaurant? I don't know your mom invited me.." "sure Ezra." I laughed. "Pick you up at eight?" she nodded and I left.

ARIAS POV:
I opened the door "damn." he said looking me up and down. I blushed. "you ready to go?" we got to the restaurant and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves but me. maybe because I was confused by mine and ezras standing. I was preparing the words in my head to say to Ezra. but before I could whisper in his ear to tell him we should talk because I don't wanna be left in the cold anymore. he wasn't there. I looked around. I saw Ezra walk up on stage. he was headed a microphone. "7 years ago I met the love of my life. I knew it was true when I couldn't stay away from her no matter what. I couldn't let anything happen to her. then she left and came back five years later and when I saw her again it was like the first time I still felt those butterflies and I feel them everyday I'm with her. Aria can you come up on stage?" I looked around the table like what's going on. my mom was all smiling and my dad was too. I walked up on stage. "you've been through more than any person should ever have to go through. You've survived worse and I know you knows we'll survive too. I told you I wanted to marry you. I want to die in your arms, I want to have a beautiful family with you but most importantly I want you forever." by this point I knew what was happening my eyes began to water. I put my hands over my face gasping. he dropped to one knee. "Aria, I know I'm probably 6 years to late but will you give me strike one back and marry me?" I couldn't get words out. I just shook my head really fast. he jumped up and hugged me and twirled me. he finally set me down and placed the ring on my finger. I looked at it and back up at him and placed both of my hands on his cheeks and kissed him. I pulled away to hear all the clapping. I smiled bigger than I ever have. I'm going to marry Ezra fitz.
