"I always looked for a man to rescue me and bring me happiness. I brought into that myth, of course, and looked for my own Prince Charming." - Linda Evans

Chapter 26: "Unveil The Unknown"

Take a deep breath. That was exactly what I did after what I've heard from Marge. What would you do if the woman you considered as your second mother wasn't really the person you thought she was? That just like the other people around you, she was also wearing a mask. A mask that would hide the life she had before. The life you didn't know existed. It was actually the biggest surprise I've ever had in my whole entire existence, if I really did exist, aside from the fact that I found out my powers as a witch. Well, I didn't see that one coming too. Growing up, Aunt Josie had always been the one who cared for me genuinely. She was the only one who knew what my real dreams were. I never felt like she was hiding something from me, actually. She was real to me, or so I thought. Funny, but it seemed like my life was a one big, fat joke made to make me look like a fool. However, the worst part of all these revelations in my life wasn't really knowing the truth. It was me who believed that somehow I already knew what my life was.

When we walked back into the living room, I saw Aunt Josie and Mr. Elvis playing the piano together. They were both having fun and somehow it made me smile too. Back on earth, Aunt Josie wasn't that happy and she wasted her life loving a man who no longer existed. It was a mix of happiness and sorrow. Happiness, because here she was smiling as if nothing could go wrong in her life. The kind of smile that she lost when sadness ate up almost half of her life on earth. But then again, I wasn't in the right position to blame her for feeling that way. Simone was the only guy she loved all her life. And of course, losing someone you love would be really hard to take in. As a matter of fact, years wouldn't be enough to forget the hurt. That was exactly what I felt the moment I watched Peter as he walked away from my life. And yes, it was hard—really hard.

Sorrow, because she was no longer the Aunt Josie that I had learned to love before. What really saddened me was the fact that I was just another stranger to her now. A stranger whom she treated like her own biological child. The girl who would always cry on shoulder and rant about some issues with her family before. The little girl who would stay in her house all day and watch seventh heaven marathons with her even though it would be against her mother's will. That was how important she was to that little, wide-eyed girl. But this was different and not the time she knew. I watched as Aunt Josie laughed out loud and nudged Mr. Elvis on the shoulder playfully. She looked like a teenager who just had a crush on someone for the first time. But if I were to choose between this time and the one I spent with her back on earth, crazy as it might seem but I would choose this one. The reason won't be a mystery, of course.

"You'll get over with that feeling, Clarie," I heard a female voice said. When I looked back, I found Marge standing behind me. "Like I said, we went back to the past for one important reason."

Believe it or not, but I still had no idea what the reason was. That even though Marge kept on reminding me about it, I still had no idea what I had to do with it. Sure, I had powers too just like Marge, but I was still a clueless witch who was having a hard time analyzing all the crazy revelations in her life. Long story short, I was just not ready for this. Yep, not even a little. So, I couldn't understand why Marge asked for my help when she could have just fulfilled this quest by herself because she was that much stronger than me. But she trusted me despite of the naked truth. And somehow, I wanted to show to her that I was worthy of it.

"What is this important thing that we have to do?" I said and frowned, making sure that I keep my voice low. "We've been together for awhile now, but you still haven't told me the plan.
