"You're my lovely present and awesome future. The girl who helped me overcome my past. Clarie, you don't need to force me because I'm willingly loving you." - Peter, Guessing Sparkles
Chapter Nineteen: Thin Line Between Fantasy And Reality
"Peter?" I said and frowned.
There was a man standing before me. My heart whispered that perhaps it was Peter. He had the same hair color and was also tall like him too. I looked around me and found out that I was inside a church. The place looked so beautiful and elegant. There were flowers everywhere—white roses, white lilies and pink peonies. The floor was carpeted too. It looked as though there was a wedding ceremony being held. But no one was there except for me and the man, which confused me a lot. As far as I could remember, a wedding ceremony didn't only consist of a bride and a groom. There should be a priest and family guests. When I looked down at myself, I found out that I was wearing a wedding gown. It looked so beautiful and was exactly what I wanted to have for my wedding. There was also a white gold wedding band around my finger. And yes of course, that only proved I was already married. The thought of being married actually made me feel quite excited, and I wanted to know who was the man I chose to spend my lifetime with. My gaze then returned to the man who was standing in front of me at the altar. He was wearing a black suit and a pair of pants. I couldn't see his face though because he wasn't facing me. My hand tapped his shoulder gently and I watched as he turned around to reveal his face. And my heart shattered into million pieces the moment I saw that he wasn't Peter.
"Why you?" I said and took a step back, but he held my hand and squeezed it so hard. I yelped. "Where's Peter? Why am I married with you?"
He just smirked. The evil smirk that only belonged to his. It was the one I had learned to hate as time gone by. When I looked down to his hand, I saw the same wedding band around his finger. My hunch was right. He was the one I chose to marry. Trust me, I was more than disappointed to know it. The thought of spending the rest of my life with him made me feel sick inside. My stomach turned upside down, and it felt like I would vomit anytime soon. How I agreed to marry him was still a mystery to me, actually. Perhaps, he must have done some monkey business and left me with no choice but to marry him. Or, he did a hocus pocus since he was good at it. Because if you would ask me, I'd tell you right away that I won't and will never marry him even in a million years.
"Aren't you happy that the prophesy came true, Clarie?" he said and pulled me closer to him. His face a few inches away from mine. "You and I will live forever. We'll build our own family. It'll be fun, right?"
As much as I wanted to slap him across the face, I just couldn't since he was holding both my hands. I glared at him, which was my way of disagreeing to what he had said. He just laughed out loud and his voice actually sounded so scary. The kind of laugh that was used only by some villains in the movies. Then suddenly, the door was opened, and I looked back to see who walked in. It was Peter. His hands were clenched into a fist. There was no smile painted on his lips. Instead, he was burning with so much anger. He slowly walked towards us. And I mentally prepared myself with what was about to happen.
"Give her to me," Peter said in a strong manner and glared at him. "You're not for her. Now, release the woman I love or prepare to say goodbye here on earth."
Instead of answering Peter, he swiftly took out a gun and shot him right in his heart. My eyes widened as I watched him fell on the ground, and I ran into him and knelt down. His eyes were still open and he looked as though he wanted to tell me something. Tears were streaming down my face as I wrapped him around my arms. A smile made its way on his lips. The type of smile that I first saw when he proposed to me months ago. Yes, he proposed to me back in Los Angeles where we spent a week long vacation together. We were happy and in love at the same time. Everything was perfect for the two of us, until today. Believe it or not, but I had no idea as to why this happened. That why all of a sudden I was already married to a stupid man and not with the guy I had dreamed to be with for the rest of my life. The man who was destined to be my better half. Peter raised his hand and touched my face. I took it and planted a soft kiss at the back of his hand.
