Chihiro Hanagaki

Chapter 29

Chihiro's face was incredibly red after such a deep kiss. Chihiro had never experienced something like that before in either of her lives. She wasn't even sure what brought on this sudden need to kiss her. They weren't even watching a romantic movie. "What brought this on?" Chihiro whispered. Kakucho smirked at her, making her heart jump. "I...I don't know, really. I just really wanted to do it," he chuckled quietly.

Chihiro turned even redder if that was even possible. She cleared her throat, turning her attention back to the movie. What she didn't notice was that Kakucho's smirk dropped and his gaze shifted to the seat behind them. Sitting a few rows back were Ran and Rindou. He glared fiercely at them, and the brothers smirked.

*Earlier that Day*

Kakucho was getting some things ready for his date later with Chihiro. He had already gotten the tickets for a showing later of some anime movie Chihiro had gushed about. Kakucho had to stop by a convenience store since he had run out of deodorant. After procuring it, he was heading back to the apartment he shared with Izana. He was passing by an arcade when he heard a familiar voice.

"Shit!? This game is rigged!?" someone cursed. Kakucho glanced over to see Rindou kicking a prize grab machine. Ran yawned, looking like he'd rather be in bed right now. "That was your tenth time trying. Just give up." Ran told him, rolling his eyes. Kakucho was just going to keep walking, not in the mood to deal with those two. Unfortunately, his luck was terrible.

"Ahh~ Well, if it isn't Kaku~" Ran called out. Kakucho sighed, turning back to the brothers who were now focused on him. "What?" he huffed. The two walked up to him, Ran draping an arm around his shoulders. "Aw, what's with the cold response?" Ran teased. Rindou tried to look into his bag, "Whatcha got?" Kakucho pulled his bag away and shoved Rindou off, snapping, "None of your business!"

Rindou smirked, snatching his bag, and Ran grabbed Kakucho when he tried to get it back. "Knock it off!" Kakucho hissed. Rindou looked into the contents of the bag, teasing, "Deodorant? Well, that's boring." Ran shook his head, saying, "I bet he has a date~." Kakucho shoved Ran away and once again snatched his bag back. "It's none of your business!" Kakucho told them, already having had enough of the Haitani brothers.

"I bet it's that girl with the braids," Rindou guessed. Ran made an 'ah hah' noise as he connected the dots, "Chihiro Hanagaki, a member of Toman." Kakucho glared at the brothers, clearly not liking where this was going. "She's such a cutie~ You two serious?" Rindou asked. Kakucho growled, "I'll only say this once: back off!" Ran laughed, "He's so scary~." The brothers were always up to no good. Kakucho wouldn't let the two anywhere near Chihiro if he could help it. "Have you kissed her yet?" Ran asked. Kakucho turned and started walking away, choosing to ignore them. "Come on, Kakucho, don't be a limp noodle!" Ran called. Kakucho didn't respond.

*Later that Day*

Kakucho made it to the theatre, ready to start his date with Chihiro. When he saw her waiting, he couldn't stop the smile from spreading across his face. 'She looks cute,' he thought. As he was walking up to her, he noticed two people he wished weren't here. Ran and Rindou were flirting with some girls nearby. 'Great, hopefully I don't have to deal with them,' he thought, already feeling a headache coming on.

He chose to ignore the two brothers' presence, focusing solely on her. "Hey, did you wait long?" Kakucho asked when he got up to her. She smiled weakly at him, saying, "Nope, you ready for the movie?" Upon seeing Chihiro up close, he noticed that her complexion was off. His smile slowly dropped as his stomach dropped. "What's wrong?" Chihiro asked, confused at his sudden silence. Without thinking, he wiped her cheek, revealing an angry-looking bruise.

"What happened to you?" he asked. Chihiro waved it off, saying, "I got pretty banged up in class today." Kakucho looked worried as he continued to rub her bruise. "You should have told me. We could have rescheduled." Chihiro covered his hand with hers, "That's sweet of you, but I really wanted to see this movie with you." Kakucho sighed, knowing he couldn't win the argument.
