The frown is ever present on my face now, having lost my boyfriend to a brawl with his sister and her challenge.
"I only traded my bed for a tent to find Galpin's cabin. A troop of testosterone-fueled jarheads is not compromising that mission, are you interested in coming with or staying and watching this fest of friendship and Childs play?"
My eyes slip over to my sister, "I'd be more interested in doing so during daylight, perhaps tomorrow, early morning..." I say as I look off towards the center of the camp, standing just outside my respective tent a few feet away.
Wednesday eyes me before she finishes contemplating the idea and giving a simple no, turning to look off at the bustling campgrounds just as I am.
"You know those scouts will be back, don't you..." I say, more so stating rather than asking her. She nods, unimpressed before giving me a reply, "With such a ridiculous man as the scout leader they will definitely be back to wreak havoc before the trip ends."
I look back at her for a moment, "You don't imagine it will be interesting?"
"No, in fact I imagine it will be more pathetic than their champion gloating at the top of the tower causing their failure."
Humming at her words I nod, "I suppose it would be, although it would most likely be good entertainment of sorts would it not?"
"Well of course, watching a group of underachieving normies try to take revenge for a loss they created for themselves. It is doomed to be only that, entertainment..."
"Are you going to the dinner your mother has planned?" I ask looking at her, her eyes drifting to the side to eye me.
"I hadn't planned to, did she finally get to you?" She asks and I make a huffed noise from my nose. "She seems quite receptive to her actions, although I remain unsure if she has truly been sincere, however that will come to light later of course."
My eyes scan the camp and I ponder a moment, curious as to the sudden changes amongst the Addam's dynasty before my head snaps to the side, a noise in my tent catching my attention immediately, "Expecting company?"
My eyes flick toward my sister for a second before I turn around and march back up to my tent and inside, scanning over the interior with narrowed eyes as Wednesday comes in behind me, "Secret admirer?"
My hands clench into fists as I catch sight of the crow, beak trying to peck and pick at the pages of my father's journal, as if it was trying to pick it up and fly off with it, unable to do so under the weight of its pages.
Wednesday kneels for a second and picks up one of Kent's shoes, abandoned for his sister's challenge like a territorial dog. Then she swiftly straightens and throws it at the crow, pin-point accuracy as it smacks against the previously oblivious bird, causing it to smack over onto the floor flapping around.
Stalking over quickly I snatch the bird up hand wrapped over its back and pinning a wing to its side before I wrap my other hand on its other side, completely subduing it.
"Give it to me..." Wednesday says, walking over to me as I look back at her "you know this creature?" I ask her and she holds out her hands.
Handing the bird over I huff, "Remove it then, I have no care for a thief..." I grumble to myself more than I grumble my grievance of the crow towards her.
"Is that your fathers journal?"
My eyes move to the bound book that lies open on my cot and I nod, "It is..."
"Have you finished reading through it?" She asks and I eye her from the side before grabbing the journal, "...No," I start, "...some of it has been very, unfavorable."
