Did I take a bit of a long break, yes, am I still working and writing for my books, yes, just needed some time to get back in the mood. Sorry for the wait everybody, I'm going to try heavy writing for the next month to get somewhat caught up to the imaginary deadline in my head lol

.......

"Thing?"

Freezing in the doorway my head tilts, taking in the empty room as Wednesday calls for our five-digit companion. The frantic banging from his trunk home takes my attention away from Enid's phone lying on the floor in the middle of the room.

Walking over and ignoring the phone I focus on the trunk, leaning down once I reach it and pulling the bar out of the slots, unlocking the small door that suddenly busts open. "Who has locked you up like this?" I frown, eyes narrowed as he tumbles out after throwing his weight on his door to break out.

Thing stands, shaky for a moment before he taps on the wooden floor boards and starts to sign, signaling and talking to us as Wednesday joins my side. Phone in her hand, "Wait, where's Enid?"

He starts to frantically tap more, explaining what happened until suddenly the phone in my sister's hand starts to ring.

We all pause and look at the little contraption before I stand up, pulling myself from my crouched position as I look over at the phone. Wednesday flips it around for a second to get to the screen before grimacing and swiping across the screen. "Do I have your attention?" A deep crackled voice echoes from the speaker making my brows furrow.

"Who are you, and where is Enid?"

Wednesday's question is ignored, instead the voice speaks again, a finality, "The game has just begun, you have 30 minutes to find your werewolf friend, or I put her down. Involve anyone else, and game over. I am watching. Tick tock, Addams sisters."

Wednesday looks at me and I frown, huffing through my nose as I genuinely debate doing anything about this or not, then my phone bubbles, a tell tale ringtone for Kent. Pulling my phone out and pulling open the message I take a deep aggravated breath, "Meet Kent in the music room..." I start to say, texting my boyfriend to wait for my sister, "he'll show you the way to the clock tower. It seems there's been a small commotion regarding my new nest since we've been gone, most likely thanks to your leeching shadow of a wisp."

Her brows furrow as I pocket my phone, nodding even though she was still curious. I move, walking forward towards the webbed window. "I'll join you both soon enough, I have something to collect for our upcoming introduction."

Exiting the room I huff, eyes darting towards the tower where my anger grows at the sight of it, lights filling the broken windows with a soft glow of coppery tones. Clenching my hands they crunch into fists, forcing so much pressure into it that my knuckles pop and I have to look away at the thought of another breached boundary.

I lift myself up onto the ledge and twist my head, popping my neck before I sigh and turn around to face the dorm room with my back to the world's view. I roll my shoulders with a shaky exhale before I force one shoulder up at a time and allow my shoulder blades to pop, my wings ripping from my back and growing, splitting fabrics and dripping fiery blood before they unfurl and the feathers fluff up.

Sighing in relief I let my head fall back as I shake the sparks and drips from my feathers before stepping back on the ledge. Then I lean back, releasing my body to the fall where I let myself drop and plummet before taking off in a soaring rush, flying off past the school and over the forest with a thoughtful mind and a plan in place.
