“Why on earth is the volume in this school increasing by the second….” I grumble to myself, exiting Ophelia hall. Sighing deeply I step to the side, following the long strip outside that takes me towards the growing noise.

Coming closer I sigh, standing at the top of the stone stairs, my eyes barely drift up and I see Ajax upon the statue, yelling as others laugh at his inconvenience.

Humming in displeasure I look away and take a step forward, intending to descend the cobblestone stairs. Far down I see the principle and my displeasure grows, he's preoccupied with a faculty member but his presence is enough to bug me.

Grumbling to myself I let out a short huff and take a step down, letting my eyes sweep over the small courtyard till I see Kent at the drink stand. Humming I take the first step downward, stopping when a hand latches onto my forearm.

Turning I look up at the girl touching me, "You're touching me…”

Sasha gives a tight, fake smile, looking down at me from the slight angle the single stair step creates in distance, “Can we talk for a second?” She asks, tone off as I raise a brow and tilt my head, eyeing her.

Lifting my arm I push off her grip with an easy swing of my arm before stepping back up to meet her at her level, she steps back crossing her arms.

“Speak,” I say, commanding almost as I blankly look at her with a bored stare.

Her eye twitches and she clears her throat, “I just wanna say that I'm sorry…” My brows furrow at the apology but there's something in her stance that tells me this wasn't all she had to say.

“Sincerely, I didn't mean to make you feel insecure, or more than you already clearly are. And I understand and empathize with you, I really do, being an orphan must have severely damaged your tiny bird brain.”

Tensing I stare at her, my brain short circuiting at the audacity of a miniscule creature.

“But just so you know, Kent, is off limits, not just because of what you are but because him and I are together, okay? So repeat after me…Kent is off limits because he is, surprise, my boyfriend.”

“Your boyfriend?” I ask, anger seeping in like a hot blanket as the ridiculous looking creature before me not only insults me but threatens my personal space as she leans in and whispers, “I'm waiting bird girl.”

Gritting my teeth I ask again after being blatantly ignored, “Your boyfriend?” I hissed, still caught on the wording.

“Yes, mine,” she scoffs at me, standing back, straightening her spine as she rolls her eyes, “our parents set us up so I'd really appreciate it if you stopped being a homewrecker. I don't care who you are or what you are, just back off. That little kiss is the only thing you're gonna be getting, you crossed the line okay.”

My eyes narrow and I take a deep breath, stretching my fingers before tightening them into my hands and making fists, forcing my knuckles to pop as I look her in her eyes.

Exhaling, I force myself to relax slightly and give a smile, predatory looking as I respond calmly but not politely, “Let me make this clear to you, Siren, and I'd like to make this one hundred percent not just tell you and you be unable to actually take this into your pea sized brain, Kent, is mine and mine alone.”

“Truthfully, I think you are inadequate compared to me, mentally and physically. Your personality downgrades your attractiveness and your clear disregard for boundaries makes you completely undesirable as a companion of any kind. There is nothing about you that makes me feel inferior or insecure.”
