I shall be getting a new laptop sometime next month, this is manageable but for some reason writing on a tablet makes my soul shrivel up.
Sorry for the wait my loves.
....

Kent stares at me, watching me as he thinks. The small alcove on the stairs feeling smaller around me as the awkward silence becomes louder than the soft buzz in my head.

“And you didn't tell me, why?” His face softens as he asks me this, “did you think I would just ghost you?”

Swallowing I stay quiet, looking away from him as he sighs and rubs his hands over his face. “For fucks sake…” He drops his hands and laughs shaking his head while I count the stones on the wall.

“I’m not gonna leave, so what, you're basically immortal until you don’t wanna be anymore.” He gives a genuine smile, chuckling, “i’m not fucking leaving you for someone just because of a lifespan…How fucking daft can you be?”

My eyes narrow and he grabs my forearm pulling me against him suddenly before planting a kiss on my forehead, correcting my sudden expression with a few more words, “I didn't mean it like that, you're ridiculously smart but I think we might need to get you a tutor for social cues.”

He continues to chuckle, hands on my cheeks as he looks down at my frowning face, “I'm gonna guess this stupid idea of yours was because of Thorpe last year, and I really do mean stupid…”

“It is not stupid, it is a normal reaction. I'd expect you to take this more seriously since it is a more important issue regarding my existence in another's life.”

“Baby, I am taking it seriously,” he grins, talking, “it's just the dumbest thing you've ever told me. It's definitely the dumbest reason to fight or break up over.”

“Sirens court when we're young and then we're bound for life…I thought if anything I'd have to tell you that I'm intentionally dating you because my intentions are to be with you for the rest of my life, even if that's forever.”

“But we are students…” I say, my brows furrowing in confusion. “You're courting me, with intent to be bound to me already. Yet you might find another after schooling has completed, no?”

He only grins down at me, clicking and chuckling simultaneously, “I guess I take after my mom like you take after your dad. I’d rather be dead than pick anyone else over you, siren or Phoenix or anything else.”

Blinking wildly I reel back as he holds my face, my hands moving to grasp his wrists as I see the look in his eyes. Humming I speak pointedly, “Your sister says your mother is an insane creature with stalking tendencies…….”

It's silent after I say so, but after a few more silent suffering moments he just lays his forehead against mine and chuckles, perplexing me somewhat.

“She's just a bit territorial but it worked for her, she still got my dad didn't she?” He sighs, smiling still, “and now I have you.”

“Yet I am the one who needs to have a tutor,” I say sarcastically with a single brow raised.

“Definitely do but that's okay,” he says ignoring the sarcasm in favor of kissing me on the lips while he continues to cup my face.

“I’ll admit though, that I did know about her intentions…” He starts after pulling away from the kiss and my head tilts in a sharp snap as my eyes light up and narrow. He continues to speak though, clicking in the back of his throat as he smirks and watches my reaction smugly, “at first I was only being friendly because our parents know each other even though I’ve never liked her like that.”
