Today is Monday, my first day of work. I arrived with Dr. James coffee as well as my own. Within the twenty minute time frame, Dr. James filled me in on the details of my temporary receptionist job and giving me a list of his schedule. "The first appointment is at nine o'clock." He tells me, "When he comes in tell him to sign in, being that he's my first patient of the day you can send him straight back to that room over there." He points to the second door, "And anyone after him, they can come in at their exact times, because I have to file paper work on each of my patients."

I nod telling him I understand my role, and he disappears into his office. I sit at the desk, signing into the computer with my new login information and setting up my email like he told me to. The elevator door opens and I look up just in time to see Hayden. Holy shit.

He freezes and his eyes widen when he sees me, but then he recollects himself and walks in. He's surprised to see me and I can say I feel the exact same way about seeing him. "Good morning Alice." He signs into the sheet without me having to tell him to do so.

"Good morning." I reply. He is dressed very casually in his all black attire and he still looks great, I can tell he just recently shaved.

"I take it, your exams went well and you got the job."

"I did."

"Congratulations."

"Thank you."

Hayden's stare was so intense I forced myself to look away from him. It's been a week since his party and I hadn't expected this to be our first reunion. What is he even doing here?

He taps his fingers on the desk before walking to the door and closing it behind him. That was so awkward. I pull up Dr. James appointment schedule on the computer and see Hayden has his appointment every Monday at 9:00 in the morning.

Not long after the elevator doors open again and a very tall kid with light brown hair, brown eyes, and a deep dimple on the left side of his cheek steps out of the elevator. He signs himself in, "Mornin', are you the new PA?"

"For the moment, yes."

"Well, I'm Simon Skye."

"Alice Greene." I shake his hand. "You have an appointment already?"

"Yes, I'm always after the angry one who always wears black clothes. He thinks I'm weird."

"He told you that?"

"Yeah, he told me to stop talking to him because I talk weird and I say weird things sometimes." Leave it to Hayden to be so straight forward with everyone.

"Well he sounds like a jerk." He is a jerk and he lies and uses people. He's a manipulator and a very good one at that. He uses his charm and good looks to get anyone he wants and it works. Holy hell it works.

"He's uptight all of the time, but it's okay my mom calls me weird too. She actually calls me a weird sick bastard."

That's kind of shitty to hear from your own mother. "You just let people get away with calling you weird?"

"I let that guy call me weird because he's very intimidating. But my mom and I argue a lot. I always say to her, 'So what if I'm fucking weird, at least I'm not a fucking whore like you.'" My eyes widened as his voice deepens subtly as he speaks, then he laughs his voice going back to normal. "My mom is a prostitute, she fucks men for money."

Simon is so open with me, he doesn't even know me and he has already shared a lot of information with me. If only Hayden was as open as Simon. I wouldn't be surprised that he's here meeting with Dr. James. Though at one point he did make a joke about knowing a very good psychologist, but I didn't look too far into his joke. "And where's your dad during all of this?"
