We all simultaneously rush towards the door. Outside in the brisk spring air we all stand in shock at what lay before us. Gut-covered, drooling biters are surrounding the house. They knocked over what seems to be a weak spot in the fence. Everyone ran back inside and grabbed their guns. I pulled my other knife out of my shoe, unsheathed it, and proceeded to run towards the biters and stab them in the head. The others scattered out one by one after me. Soon, bodies started piling on the ground, along with guts and sticky blood covering the once green-ish grass. More biters came, hearing the gun shots, and they soon overrun the house. "Melody! You and Adam run inside quickly and scavange as much as you can from the house! Focus mainly on food, we have all of our weapons with us out here! Hurry!" Dan shouts from the north side of the fence. I nod my head and direct my eyes to Adam who also nods. We both run towards the blue house and once inside we grab bags and fill them with food. Adam and I take turns guarding each other as we gathered as much food as we could carry. After we both have about five bags each we head out onto the porch and signal to Dan. Dan proceeds to signal to what looks to be Jeremy and he runs to the truck and starts it up. Out of the corner of my eye I see a biter headin out of the door. As soon as I turn it bites into Adams neck. His blood splatters on my face and he yells out in pain. On impulse I stab the biter before it can do anymore damage. Tears form in my shocked eyes. Eventhough I didn't know him that well, he was another person, another friendm and I wasn't going to let him suffer. He groans out when I turn him on his back. "I-I'm so sorry Adam...I wasn't quick enough." Again. He uses the last of his strength to smile at me. A tear rolls down my face and I plunge my blade into his forehead. Now his blood is on my hands too...  I stiffle back a sob and try to grab the bags he had. Lisa came up behind me and put a comforting hand on my shoulder. She grabs his bags and she points to the truck and the RV. We run towards the truck when we see Janessa shooting at biters and rushing her daughter to the RV. Luce is struggling to keep up and it seems like Janessa's pulling isn't helping. Luce trips and the nearest biters takes the opportunity to plunge into her arm. The biters pulls the flesh off, down to the bone. Luce screams out in pure agony before passing out. Janessa shoots the biter in the head and crouches over Luce. "My poor baby! Why!? Why her!?" She cups her hands around Luce's face and sobs over her daughters body. Chris runs up and drags Janessa away from her body and towards the truck. Dan then proceeds to shoot her in the head so she doesn't turn. Once the rest of us are all gathered in the truck or RV, we speed off with heavy hearts down the dirt road back to the city.
