Muffled sobs of Janessa fill the truck. The rest of us sit in uncomfortable silence as thoughts buzz around in our minds. After driving for hours, Jeremy brings the truck to a stop on the side of the road. The RV behind up also stops, we all get out (except Janessa, who remains sobbing into the back seat of Jeremy's truck.) and discuss what we should do next. "Okay, everybody. I know what just happened is still a shock to us all, but we all know it would be best to move on." Dan pauses and looks at us. "I was thinking we head to the other side of the state, get more supplies, then head to North Carolina. There are a lot of forest area there, we can find a spot and live there." He glances up at our reactions. "Is that okay with everyone?" We all nod our heads. Lisa comes beside me and mouths 'it's okay' and puts a hand comfortingly on my shoulder. "Okay, lets do this." Dan states finally and we all get back into the vehicles. I glance at everyone around me. They all look so defeated and sad...I'm going to try to make this right again. I think before climbing into the rusty truck once again, awaiting the long journey before us.
A.N. I know this chapter is really short, it is more of a transitional chapter. Plus, the last chapter was quite long, even if it was just the character insight. :3
