Forgotten Memories

Chapter 13

Dan's P.O.V.

Lisa and I run into the supply store and grab as many things necessary. I'm surprised that there are no walkers here... As soon as the thought crosses my mind, a shelf knocks over and walkers pour out from the back of the store (A.N. this was only supposed to happen at this store, not the grocery store with Melody. Sorry about that ;_;) "Run!" I yell to Lisa at the other side of the store, we speed out of the new dust-gathering store. On our way out, Cody, Kat , and Chris all come running with a herd of walkers behind them. Then Melody, Bryan, and Janessa also run towards us; walkers not far behind.

Melody's P.O.V.

I run as fast as my legs will go as a large group of gut-dripping biters trail behind me. I see Byran, Janessa, and further back Jeremy, and Caroline; running towards the others, who are also running. We are screwed...There are so many biters! I think as I run towards them and stop. I point towards a blocked off building that has a ladder to the roof on the side. We all group back up and run for dear life. Once we get to the building, the kids and I are shoved up the ladder as others fight off some of the biters. Soon Lisa, Chris, and the others come up the ladder. Biters surround the building. This building is pretty high up, I don't think they can get us... I think, trying not to panic. "I'm not sure about any of you, but I couldn't bring any of the supplies I got. I left them where we were supposed to meet and just...ran." Jeremy says sadly. Everyone, including myself, nod. "If they don't leave, we'll be stuck up here..." Lisa says, looking down, in a rather pessimistic-tone. Caroline hugs onto Jeremy and we all look at each other, looking for some kind of solution. "I...I don't wanna be on of them." Janessa says shakily. I nod along with some of the others. "Maybe...this building...it's pretty tall..." Bryan starts off. We all look at him in shock. "Maybe, he's right..." Lisa says sniffling. Cody looks to his father with tears in his eyes and Dan just nods. We all line up arm in arm along the edge of the building. It was the back, so there weren't as many biters. Lisa to my left and Cody on my right, I look down. Maybe this is the right choice. I'll be with my family, L...and these guys. I think as I glance at the purpling sky. The biters down below growl out and their odor more-presently fills the air. I look at the others with tears in my eyes. " I love all of you. Thank you all for accepting me and....being a family." I sniffle back my tears and Lisa squeezes my hand and whispers, "We love you too." I smile at her and the others. "On three?" Dan asks. We all nod and pull eachother close in a final embrace."One..." Dan says as we link arms again. "Two..." Jeremy whispers. "Three!" Janessa cries and we all jump from the building; hand-in-hand.
