Someone tapped my shoulder and I was awake instantly, no complaints, no mutterings, no brain fog, no nothing. Someone woke me up, so now I am awake. The life of a Misfit, you learn this trick very young, to wake without any noise and to be fully alert, but could still be mistaken for being asleep. Well maybe not Lily. She is the hardest to wake up.

"My that was easy! I was expecting it to be much harder than that!" A lady about the age of thirty, brown hair to her shoulders, and hazel eyes, she has a kind face and a motherly aura. She was also standing beside me. "Oh and my name is Mary by the way Luna of this pack, but that's not really important." Mary told me.nI nodded my head in response. "Now if you teach my children that trick, how to wake up just like that. I would appreciate it so very much!" Mary said with a smile across her face.

Her smile was contagious, I smiled back. "Unless your children are Misfits, then there is nothings I can do for you." Seeing her confused look, I started to explain why before she ask her unspoken question. "As a Misfit it's very easy to die, I mean we could fall asleep one place and wake up and in a complete other place. So we have to wake easy, we have to wake up alert, we also have to wake and look like were asleep too. It comes with being a Misfit." By now we were walking towards the house. I could tell she felt bad for us, but live your life like this and you get use to it real fast.

The house is huge. At least four stories high, and just huge. We walk into the front entrance, boy oh boy was it grand. There was hardwood under my feet. And it wasn't rotting! The walls were a peachy colour, the whole feel to the house was inviting.

I was about to walk further when Mary stopped me. "Avey, shoes." I gave her a confused look. "You need to take off your shoes." She told me in a polite way.

"Oh right," I was laughing lightly. "I'm guessing there is no risk in anything being rotting here, no steps that if you step on them, they'll be rotted right through." I was dead serious about the whole rotting issue.

"No of course not! Why would you even think that?" Mary was, I don't even know, just shocked, maybe.
"Well all of the Misfits that came here, the houses were rotting. To us it the normal. But to you guys I guess this is the normal." By then my shoes were off and I was exploring. I looked back to see that Mary still hadn't moved from her spot. Her face look horrified at what I had said.

"Don't worry you get use to the mold, rotting, and mildew smell after all it is your home." I left her there still in her shocked state.

I explored a good chunk of the house before they called us for diner. I didn't know where I was, so I followed the smell of food. When in doubt, follow the aroma of food.
I found myself in a huge dining room all the the Misfits that came with me were here, and more people too. Cross was also here. Joy.

I sat down and everyone was silent, but all the Misfits faces were filled with excitement, happiness, hunger... Or maybe that's just Derek. Although he's always hungry, so that's nothing new.

Cross was the first to break the silence. "So Avey, how was your nap?" He was smirking, the little shit was actually smirking.

I narrowed my eyes, and full on glared at him. "Oh it was perfect, considering that this time I wasn't drugged by you. Thank you so much for asking." I just couldn't keep the venom from my voice for the last bit.
The person on my right was tugging rather enthusiastically on my arm, I look over and surprise, Arie was the one tugging. She was practically bouncing in her seat.

I raised an eyebrow. "Yes?"

She took a big breath then started. "This house is the best! It smells so nice! And there's no mold, or, or, OR, rotting wood. And its light and open, and big so big. And there's a forest surrounding the house, you think I could play in there now, now we have a pack protecting us, I've always wanted to play in the forest again." By the end of her rant she was sitting on my lap. I gave her a small smile, that turned into a big one.
