If you've made it all the way to the end, thank you!!! Seriously, thank you so much.
Every comment, every vote, every reaction, every message on my page, every time you commented I needed to update pushed me to keep going. I'm so incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to read this story and stayed with me until the very last page.
It took me a little longer to finish this than I originally wanted, but I got there in the end, and honestly, I'm just happy I did. Because I love writing, I love experimenting, I love trying new things, exploring different plots. I just love the escapism it gives me.
I had so much fun writing these books, stepping outside my comfort zone and creating characters who are messy, complicated and, in some cases, completely unhinged. I hope you had just as much fun reading them.
Obsession and Dominated were such a different experience for me because I got to step outside of my comfort zone and try something new.
Obsession follows the Journal of Bianca Dawson, a girl who came to Spain supposedly to study, but the real reason she was there was Jude Bellingham. She wanted to stalk him, get close to him and make him fall in love with her and she did.
But somewhere along the way, Bianca stopped noticing that the love was gone.
What started as love slowly became pity, and then fear. As her mental health deteriorated and she stopped taking her medication, the line between what she believed and what was actually happening became harder and harder to separate. From there, everything spiraled.
And then there was Jude.
For most of Dominated, Jude was an unreliable narrator. I wanted to try that because an unreliable narrator is someone telling the story whose version of events can't necessarily be taken as the complete or objective truth. They may leave things out, distort what happened, or simply tell the story from a perspective that doesn't show the whole picture. Which is why in Richard Jr. POV I added him recalling what happened that day in his office to Amelia.
Since Jude wouldn't have told you 😉.
For most of his pov, he seemed determined to find her, you'd think it's because he loves her and wants to save her, he just desperately wants her. No he's scared shitless of this woman and wants her away so he can have drama free life. But slowly, little things started to feel off. Then the cracks began to show.
And if you go all the way back to the end of Obsession, to the moment Jude visited Lana's grave, you might notice that something in him changed that day.
What that change means is completely up to you.
Was Jude a villain too? He could be, or maybe not. That's the thing about perspective. There is never just one side to a story. Jude isn't going to sit there and tell you he's the villain.
From his perspective, he has reasons for everything he does. He has his own version of what happened, just like Bianca did, just like everyone else did.
And that's what I wanted to play with in this book. So thank you for letting me experiment with that.
As for Dominik, one could argue that he was Bianca's real love interest all along. He loved her, flaws and all. He knew the ugly parts of her and loved her anyway. And despite what Bianca believed, he was never going to betray her.
If anything he was trying to play Richard and protect himself just incase... after all he had his own life.
Dominik loved Bianca, but he didn't understand her. He saw the things she did, the way she behaved and the person she was becoming and just let her continue. And maybe that's what makes their relationship so tragic.
But that raises another question: can you truly love someone and still let them go on suffering without realizing they need help?
Again this was fun! If you hate it tell me, if you loved it tell me!
Thank you for reading this story. Thank you for surviving my unhinged characters.
Most of all, thank you for making Obsession and Dominated worth finishing.
And I'm not done yet.
I have another book I'm currently writing, and I honestly think it might be my favourite one yet. I can't wait for you to meet these characters and see what I've been working on. So if you want to be there for it, follow me and keep an eye out. I'll be sharing more updates as I get closer to finishing it.
Thank you again for giving this book a chance 🤍
