The day I became a Barca fan
•••I pulled up to the property, my car's engine still humming as I stepped out. From the outside, it looked like money. Clean lines, glass everywhere, the kind of place that caught attention. Not my usual style, but I wasn't here for personal taste. I was here to make sure this place was going to make me more of what I'm best at—money.
Dominik was already there, leaning casually against his car. Reliable as always. I'd asked him to fly out here and take a look with me. When it came to business, Dominik was one of the few people I could count on. He had an eye for these things, and I appreciated that. In my world, you needed people like him sharp, honest, and brutally straightforward when money is at play.
He smirked as I approached. "Nice of you to finally show up."
I adjusted my jacket, not missing a beat giving my usual answer to our inside joke. "Don't get used to it."
Dominik laughed, nodding toward the building. "You better hope this place is worth me flying out for."
I glanced over at the structure again, taking in the sprawling glass façade. It looked impressive enough. "Let's go find out."
We walked inside, the agent hovering close by. He was the kind of guy who'd probably sold his soul to sell this place, talking up every detail like it was the best thing on the market. The floors shone, the ceilings stretched high, and the space felt like it went on forever. The perfect kind of spot for someone who needed to flaunt just how rich they were.
"What do you think?" Dominik asked, walking ahead of me.
I shrugged. "It's flashy."
Dominik grinned. "Flashy's good. Flashy sells."
The agent, who clearly wanted to insert himself into the conversation, jumped in. "This is one of the finest properties on the market. A true gem. The area is booming, and with this kind of design, you're looking at a strong return on investment."
I shot him a look but turned back to Dominik. "What's your take? You think this is a smart move?"
Dominik crossed his arms, giving the place another once-over. "Honestly? Yeah. This isn't just about the building; it's about the area. In a few years, this neighborhood's going to explode. You buy now, and you're sitting on gold."
I paced through the living room, eyeing the walls of glass that offered a perfect view of the city. It wasn't hard to see the appeal. The kind of place where people with too much money would fight to live in just to show off.
I walked back over to Dominik, my hands in my pockets. "What about the competition? Anyone else sniffing around?"
The agent was quick to answer. "We've had a few interested parties, but nothing serious yet. If you act quickly, you can lock it down before anyone else does."
Dominik leaned against the wall, still calm, still collected. "Look, this place is going to sell. There's no doubt. The question is whether you want to be the one making a profit off it or watching someone else do it."
I looked at Dominik for a second, appreciating how reliable he always was when I needed him. He didn't waste time, didn't bullshit. When he gave me his word that something was worth it, I listened. And right now, he was telling me this place was a smart buy.
I glanced at the agent. "Maintenance on a place like this?"
The agent gave a practiced smile. "We've partnered with a top-tier management company. Full service, round the clock. You won't have to lift a finger."
