I'm losing faith in you, whatever you might say, I can't stand to lose myself, these days of no trust, I'm losing faith in you, for what you have become, In these days of no trust
-Firewind, Losing Faith

Evangeline Hemmings -

After kissing Carr on the cheek, I went off to greet everyone. The first person I ran into was Michael Clifford, one of the five mentors who helped train the younger kids. " Mentor Michael! So happy you could make it! " I said, smiling brightly and leaning in for a hug. He gave me a big hug and kissed my cheek.

" I told you to call me Michael! Mentor is just too formal for me. " He said, chuckling.

" Mentor isn't even a formal title, Michael. If you win the election you're going to have to get used to even more formal titles. " I stated. He sighed, seemingly troubled by the topic of the crowning election.

" I don't really want to think about that Evangeline. " He told me softly. I hesitantly nodded and told him that I wold see him at dinner. The next person I ran into was Mentor Ashton.

" Evangeline! I heard about your episode, I'm glad to see you up and about after such a tough one. " He said sincerely, hugging me tightly.

" Thank you Mentor Ashton. I'm still having some sleeping problems, but hopefully Margo can help me through those, and maybe even extract more of the vision. " I said optimistically, knowing deep down neither would really happen.

" I wish the best of luck to you. Margo is a very talented woman. " He said, kissing  my cheek and going off to greet Alice. Next was Calum Hood, the last mentor that was close with our family. After chatting with Mentor Calum, I talked with Carr and his family, getting to know Lady Mel and his parents.

Soon Luke called everyone to our formal dining room with two very large tables that had twelve spots each. Luke, Alice, Mentor Calum, Lady Mali, Carr, Lady Mel, Mentor Ashton, Harry, Lauren, Mentor Michael, and Blithe all sat at a table with me. Mentor Calum's parents, Carr's parent's, Mentor Michael's parents, Mentor Ashton's mother, Blithe's parents, and the Ronan successor, Blithe's older brother, Joe sat at the other table.

Dinner was brought out by my family and everyone seemed to very much like the meal, and the dinner had been going smoothly until dessert arrived. Alice had gripped my hand tightly, her eyes squeezing shut. " Are you alright? "  I asked, whispering into her ear. She shook her head no.

" I have a terrible headache and my body aches have gotten worse. " She whispered back. I quickly lead her away to the kitchen, signaling for Luke to follow.

" What's going on here? " Luke asked, looking at Alice who was laying down on the small bench.

" I'm 90% sure she's turning, right now. She's having the same transition symptoms I did. " I informed Luke who had started pacing.

" I'll tell everyone except the boys that the party had to end early. We are going to try and get through this tonight, while I'm still around. " Luke said, exiting the kitchen.

" I'm scared, Eva. " Alice confessed, her voice trembling.

"Hey, you're tough, you're gonna get through this. It's painful, but I have faith in you. " I told her, smoothing her hair down as another wave of body pains came through her.

It was going to be a long night.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Two hours later and it seemed that Alice hadn't gone any farther into the transition, but her symptoms were getting worse. I was in the kitchen refilling a bucket with water and ice to dip washcloths in when I heard a bloodcurdling scream from upstairs. I grabbed the bucket and trekked the stairs as fast as possible with a bucket full of liquid.

Upon entering Alice's room, it wasn't the sight I was hoping for. The pain gets worse as you get closer to being done with turning, but Alice didn't look anymore vampire like than she did yesterday. She was sobbing and screaming, thrashing on the bed. Beads of sweat dripped down her face and Luke sat beside her bed, whispering encouraging things into her ears.

" She doesn't look any different. " I said to Ashton, setting the bucket next to Luke. " What is going on? Why is this taking so long? "

" There's something different about her. I'm not sure what... " He said, trailing off staring at Alice. I begun to get worried, this had been going on for a while now and she was in pain.

After sitting around for another hour, cringing every time Alice screamed, we finally started seeing proper signs of turning. She was paling and her eyes were dilating. " Am I dying? " Alice whispered.

" No. It's almost over Alice. Be strong. " Luke said, patting the cloth on her forehead. The last part of her turning was beginning to take place. " Calum, go and get a pint of blood from the fridge please. " Calum left and Alice writhed on the bed for what was hopefully the last time. When Calum returned, it all happened. Alice's eye shot open and her mouth pulled into a grin showing her newly grown fangs.

" Here, this should make you feel so much better. " Calum said, opening the bag of B positive blood. She sat up to reach for the bag, but instead of drinking from the bag, she grabbed Calum's hand and bit into his wrist. He let out a shriek, and I was frozen. This couldn't be happening, this never happens. Luke pulled Alice away and Michael grabbed Calum.

" You boys should leave. " Luke said calmly. They nodded and rushed out of the room, out of the house. Alice was crying again.

" I- I'm s-so sorry. I-I don't k-know what h-happened to m-me. " She sobbed. Luke just cradled her in his arms, rocking her back and forth. I was still frozen in my spot. What did this mean? Was my vision going to prove to be true a lot sooner than I expected? Vampire's never drank another vampire's blood. We had a system to get human blood without attacks, we held blood drives and distributed the blood to vampire's throughout the community.

" I-I need to get some air. " I said, and ran out of the house as fast as my legs could take me.
