The Hemmings bloodline was unique, as was the Clifford, Hood, and Irwin line. The Hemmings' had the ability to foresee the future. It was more a curse than a blessing, as they could never stop something from happening after seeing it. They also had the power of projection, putting images into someone's head.
The Clifford's ability was being able to transform into different animals. No, not just the stereotypical bat, but wolves, tigers, and any other animal you could imagine.
The Hood's ability was elemental. They were able to manipulate air, water, fire, and earth. They were one of the most powerful lines.
The Irwin's ability was mind reading. They wriggled there way into your mind, and you could rarely tell they were there if the person was well enough trained. The Irwins are one of the most devoted and strong-willed blood lines, a reason why they mostly took the throne.
The hierarchy of the vampire world was fairly simple. There were six royal bloodlines, the Hemmings, the Cliffords, the Hoods, the Irwins, the Ronans, and the Jannings. The Jannings and Ronans wielded no special talents, so they rarely took the throne.
Every year there was crowning, which took place in Kodiak, Alaska. On Summer Solstice, all of the royals gather at the operational building and the successor most voted on was placed on the throne.
The vampire world had been undisturbed for centuries, every ceremony and crowning going off without a hitch. When Evangeline discovers something never heard of before, will everything she and her family have ever know come crashing down around her?
Later in the story some different title's will be used and I want to clarify their meanings for y'all.
Mentor- Someone younger than 18, who is not related to you and has been a vampire for over a year.
Lord or Lady- Someone older than 18 that has royal blood
Prince or Princess- Someone who has a relative (immediate family such as a mother, father, brother, or sister) on the throne
