'And all the kids cried out please stop you're scaring me'
-Halsey, Control

THIRD PERSON POINT OF VIEW

The street was desolate and utterly destroyed. Smoke rose from the rubble and ashes of the destructed homes of the elders and royals. Bodies laid sprawled out, scattered throughout the streets. There, to the east of the street sat Myra Hemmings, sitting on her knees sobbing over the body of her son, Jack.

"Why!" She screamed through her sobs. Little did she know that Jack deserved the unfortunate end that he got. He was the one who had drained half the elders and proceeded to set the village on fire.

"I just want my baby back." She whispered onto his chest.

Evangeline shot out of bed, sweating from the nightmare. She grabbed the journal from her bed and wrote down the memory in detail in case she were to forget, although she knew she wouldn't. Eva had never, ever forgotten a dream. After the memories were projected through dream, they were etched into her brain forever it seemed, haunting her for weeks on end.

Taking a shaky breath out, she closed her eyes and tried desperately to remember where she had heard the name Myra before, and Jack. They both sounded so familiar, and the answer was on the tip of her tongue.

Despite it being four in the morning, Eva went downstairs to the basement where the family records were kept. Opening the doors, she quickly went to the section that covered the M's. Tracing over the spines of the books, she found what she was looking for. "Myra Hemmings, 5" Eva whispered to herself, taking the book from the shelf. In this book contained every single piece of information on Myra there was, her grades, accomplishments, traits, and physical features. The five that accompanied her name on the spine meant she was generation five. Evangeline was in the 27th generation, her parents the 26th. The Hemmings line was one of the youngest, some of the others like Irwin went all the way back 50 generations.

Eva tore open the book and thumbed through it until she came across a page that read, 'Massacre of 1813'. Reading further it stated that her son, Jack, had become so blood thirsty that he turned on the elders and drained most of them, and then burned down the rest of the village. Apparently one of the surviving elders shot him down and killed him, ending his rampage.

Evangeline walked over to the J's to see if Jack was there, and was surprised to find it missing. She then jogged to the L's to find her mother, Liz. She was shocked to find that book gone as well. How many other people in her family had been through the same thing Jack, Alice, and her mother had? Why were their books gone?
