Spencer
"Mia." I say, shaking her shoulder gently.
We have finally arrived in Montana. I fell asleep a few minutes after Mia and when I woke up I found a note placed on my shirt.
It read,
Dear Spencer,
We left to head to the station. We thought that Mia should get some sleep and you should stay with her until she woke up. When you read this note immediately come to the station.
From, Aaron Hotchner
I look at Mia who is still in the same position she was when she fell asleep. Her face is buried in my shirt and her legs are curled into my side. I don't want to wake her because she looks so peaceful. I don't want her to awake and remember that her best friends is still missing.
Is it possible to let her sleep until we find Lilith? No. I'm being unrealistic.
I kiss her forehead then repeat her name but louder this time. She slowly opens her eyes and smiles. She clearly hasn't processed that Lilith is still missing.
"Hey handsome. Where are we?" Mia asks, looking around the jet. Her eyes get cloudy with tears when she realizes what's going on.
"Oh Mia please don't cry. Be strong for Lilith. We will find her. I promise."
Her eyes travel to mine before she speaks.
"Where is the team?"
"They are at the station. They wanted you to sleep." I answer.
"Then let's get going." Mia says adding a little fake enthusiasm because she noticed the worry in my eyes.
"Where is the best place to get a taxi?"Mia
The drive to the police station was quiet and depressing because Spencer and I had to go over the case files. When we finally got to the station I was not ready to face my friends and family. I tried to prepare myself beforehand because I knew they would be there because they had to be questioned but it didn't work. Spencer and I walked inside the station hand-in-hand. Waiting outside the interrogation room are all of my friends. In college we ruled the school. The friends in my "squad" are Janai, Sara, Talia, Megan, Elouise, Lilith and my sister. They all turned to look at me. Each of them had tears running down their face along with anger burning in their eyes. We are all pretty much a group of sisters so we are all furious and heartbroken that someone messed with our family. Megan is the first one to walk over to me.
"W-we all m-missed you. I w-wish we could be m-meeting under better circumstances." She says struggling over her words.
"Me too." Is what I choke out before I give Megan a big bear hug.
Everyone else joins our hug. We all start to sob but we are quickly stopped when Derek comes out of the interrogation room.
"Mia I need your help in here." He says.
I freeze. I bet my parents are in there. Lilith was like their third daughter. They are probably crying their eyes out. I hate watching people I love cry.
I feel a hand rest on my shoulder. I turn and see Spencer nodding at me.
"You can do it." He says trying to encouraging me.
I smile at him because he is being so sweet and helpful then I walk towards Derek. He drapes his arm on me as we walk through the door. Just as I suspected I walk in to find parents bawling. This is going to be the worst trip of my life.
