Disadvantage 18 - You are so used to loving the 'awesome' person you are and being the 'awesome' being that you usually forget when you cross the line of arrogance.
Oh fuck. I hurriedly put on the loose baggy shirt and tie my laces. This is such a shame. I give up tying my laces, I'll do it later. I run out of the bathroom and nearly miss smashing my face on the door.
"Ala!" Alan yells as soon my face appears on the door. I stand and catch up on my breath and wait for my heartbeat to come back under control. Alan stares at me a bit relieved, a bit amused.
"You know, you are seven minutes late." He says folding his arms. I give him sickly sweet smile and proceed to keep my bag in the corner near the bean bag.
Wait, where is Rain ?
"She waited but you didn't come so she went back home." Alan says replying to the question I didn't ask out loud. "She said she wanted a bit ..family time. You know .."
I know. And it is terrible. Last week she found out her Grandpa has bone-marrow cancer that too last stage. She is still her chirpy vibrant self while with us but back home she spends a lot of time with her family. Her Grandpa has shifted with them, I guess. She has hardly ever stayed back in school after hours. During the school, she is tired almost all the time. Not like I attend many classes. I am back to spending most of my time with Alan in rehearsal hall.
And it is amazing. The certain someone whom I am presumably dating is not at all happy with this fact.
"Well, anyway. Why for heavens are you seven minutes late ?" Alan asks while standing on tiptoes and stretching his body. He has this lean figure with quite admirable abs. Shut up, Beck.
"Seven minutes. Damn. That is a letdown for my body. I tried to make it in five." I reply while tightening my shoes and tying my laces. I can feel his gaze piercing through the back of my head.
"Um, when I went back in last period I realized it was a spare so I went to the library to get work done." I say feeling slightly embarrassed. I mean first of all, who forgets their timetable and secondly, who in their right minds-
"You fell asleep, didn't you ?" He chuckles and plops down beside me. "I am not surprised you slept through the dispersal." He flashes his perfect smile at me while I take out the hair tie from my hair to put them in a bun.
"You don't have to-
"Ya. Ya. It's okay, Ala. You don't have to be punctual all the time." He ruffles my hair, messing up my bun. I just look at him. I don't even bothering to swat his hands away. He gets up and goes towards the music system.
Why do you have to do this, Alan ? Don't. Please don't.
"Tie your laces at all times though." He says with his back to me. "You can't expect Marc to save you from falling like in a cliché movie."
Okay, why did he just bring Marc up ? Why does everyone keep on bringing Marc in everything ? Wait, oh yes. We are dating. Stop cringing at his name. "Please. Last I checked, I am the one saving his sorry ass." I say, snorting.
He lets out a trail of short stifled laughs. I walk to the center of the hall and start doing my usual warm ups. Stretching my body, few butt kicks. I like jumping jacks the best. No, not because they are the easiest. Of course not. Look at me while I lie, haha.
"Just the two of us then ?" He keeps the remote back and stands beside me. My eyes unconsciously travel to his magnificent ocean like eyes. I nod my head in response. The songs starts to play and we start with our choreography.
