"Hi." I said and smiled when we started walking.
"Hey." He looked like he was thinking about something.
"Do you want to... go to dinner or something later? Tonight?" It sounded weird coming out of his mouth. I always used to get asked out. But after it ended with Ryan, I dressed in baggy sweatshirts, and didn't bother to do my blonde hair as well as I used to anymore. And everyone stopped losing interest. I used to be... perfect. Flawless. I still do try now. The baggy sweatshirts lasted for about a month. I started getting into the groove of things, but it didn't work. People just remembered me as that person that I was that one month. That stupid one month left me how I was now.
"Sure. I'd like that." I had no idea why he'd be asking me this stuff. I hadn't gotten asked out since 5 months ago. Even when I was dressed in those baggy sweat shirts, I still got asked out. I got asked out at least twice a week. But I turned everyone down. So, they stopped trying.
"Good. How about around 5?"
"Sure." I said and smiled.
I remembered when Jason asked me out. It was hard to turn him down. Because I had a major crush on him since like third grade. But then, Ryan came into my life in 8th grade. And we were together for 4 years. Everyone thought we'd get married. But it didn't work out that way.
"Alright, bye." He said and walked me off to History.
I sat down at the spot in the back corner, like always.
"Were you just walking with Jason!?" Taylor hissed.
"Yeah, I was." I said and smiled. "Got a problem?" Woah. That sounded weird coming from me.
She leaned closer to me;she sat next to me.
"If you try to take him away from me, you will be dead meat. Got it?"
"Don't worry. I won't try to take anything that wasn't ever yours."
"b*tch." She snapped and raised her hand.
"Yes, Mrs. Southwind?"
"Can I go to the bathroom?" She asked, her voice quivering.
"Yes, go ahead."
She hurried out of the room and out the door. For the first time in so long, I felt accomplished.

I put the finishing touches on my makeup and checked my outfit over once more. I fixed my jean shirt and put my tank top in place. I heard the doorbell ring. I ran downstairs. Luckily, my dad wasn't home. He would definitely give me a hard time about leaving with a guy.
"Hey, you look nice." Jason said and smiled at me. God, that crooked smile made me dizzy.
"Thanks." I was practically drooling over him, but I tried to hide it. And I was good at it; Ryan was quite the looker, also. Every girl in my whole school would be drooling over Jason Hallman. He was a total babe. Just the way his blue eyes sparkled whenever he looked at you. And his short haircut always looked perfect.
We walked out to his car and he opened the door for me. I thanked him and sat in the seat. It smelled like his cologne. And trust me, that smelled good.
It started raining on the way to the restaurant. By the time we got there, it was pouring out. We ran into the restaurant like little kids. It was actually fun. He took me to my favorite restaurant, Friendly's. I already knew this was going to be a good night for me.
