Girl meets Boy

So, I'm dating my brothers best friend. There's only one problem and that is that my brother, Matt, doesn't know. It would probably be easier to understand if I started this story from the beginning.
              *Flashback*
"Mom I don't want to move I love it here. Plus, all my friends are here and I don't want to leave them behind."
"I'm sorry Jamie but your father got a great promotion and we can't pass this opportunity up"
"But mom"
"Sweetie you're only 14 you'll adjust easily in LA. Even though it seems like it's the end of the world, I promise it's not"
"Yeah Whatever I guess I should start packing "
"Alright I'll leave you to it"
My mom walked out and shut the door and then I heard a knock.
"Come in"
"Hey J"
"Hi Matt... What's up?"
"Nothing I just wanted to see how you were doing with this whole moving thing"
"Fine I guess"
"Hey it'll be ok trust me"
"Yeah I know it's just hard leaving everyone and everything behind you know?"
"Yeah I get it... Well I should go pack seeing that we leave tomorrow"
"Yeah ok"

It's been three years since we moved. On the first day there our neighbors invited us to dinner and that's where Matt met Ryder. They instantly clicked and became best friends and from then they were inseparable. I only just turned 17 during the summer and Im currently in my senior year. I skipped first grade and my brother hates it because it means that we have the same classes. I'm basically his embarrassing little sister who happens to be in the same grade. Let me tell you moving wasn't that bad. The weather is great, I have a lot of new friends, and I have a cute boyfriend who also happens to be my brother's best friend. This hasn't been going on for long only about 3 months. Ok, ok that's kind of a long time but we haven't told anyone because my brother would kill Ryder and my parents would freak out. It's difficult to keep this a secret and I hate lying to my brother but we will tell him...... eventually. For this to make even more sense I have to start about a month before school started.

"So Jamie what do you want to do for your birthday?" Said Matt
"I don't know yet. Maybe you should just surprise me"
Sadly my parents weren't going to be with me on my birthday because they were on a business trip and they weren't going to be able to make it. At first it was hard, but over the years it  became easier to accept that my parents weren't going to be here often.
"Hey J" said Ryder while snapping his fingers in my face. Wherever Matt was Ryder was and vice versa and because my parents were hardly ever home he spent most of his time here. After I came out of my thoughts I tried biting Ryder's fingers. I hated when people snapped at me and he knew it.
"Wow J your going to really hurt me one of these days"
"You know I don't like it when people snap their fingers at me"
"Yeah I know that's why I do it" Ryder smirked and I wanted to punch him but I didn't cause he is too cute for me to hate him.
"So what did you want?"
"Oh it's just you seemed sad"
"I was just thinking about my parents"
"Don't worry Babe you're still going to have the best birthday ever"
"Yeah J we'll make sure you have a great birthday"
By the way me and Ryder are not dating he just calls me babe as a sort of nickname. At first Matt thought it was weird but it's been so long that it has just become normal. I'm not gonna lie I love when he calls me babe and I can't help but blush every time he says it. Thankfully Matt is too dumb to realize that I really like his best friend but whatever. Nothing is ever going to happen because one my brother would freak and two Ryder doesn't like me that way. I've accepted it though so it's fine. By the way Matt and Ryder are considered the hottest guys at school and honestly Ryder is super attractive and sweet and ... I mean I could keep going all day. My brother on the other hand I don't really see it but that might be cause he's my brother and I think he's hideous. Although girls throw themselves at them, they are actually really nice. My brother has had about 3 girlfriends during high school and Ryder has been on dates but he has never really had a girlfriend. Me on the other hand I am pretty average looking and I don't really date. I like to focus more on school.
"J you spaced out again"
"Sorry Matt I just got lost in thought"
"It's ok just remember that your birthday is going to be epic"
1 Week Later
"Happy Birthday!"
Seriously why did Matt wake me up this early... I should get to sleep in it's my birthday for crying out loud
"It's not early J"
"I said that aloud?"
"Yup"
"Wow I'm stupid"
"I already knew that"
"Ha Ha Ha so funny dork face"
"I try. Now come on get up we have lots of things to do. You have an hour to get ready cause Ryder is picking us up and we're going somewhere fun.
"Alright cool I'm excited"
"You should be"
I got in the shower and got ready. I put on some black skinny jeans, a blue/white striped tee shirt, and my doc martins. I didn't like wearing much make up  so I usually just put on mascara and some lipgloss or lipstick. I left my curly hair down and I was ready. I was ready before the hour so I had time to eat breakfast which made me happy because I loved eating food.
" I knew you would be ready sooner and that's why I got you food from your favorite place"
"Oh my god this is already the best birthday ever"
He got me an Oreo milkshake and a grilled cheese with fries. This was literally my favorite food.
"Thank you Matt"
"Don't thank me Ryder's the one who knew exactly what to order cause I had no idea"
As soon as he said that Ryder walked in. He never knocked, he just came in but we had gotten used to that too. His mom didn't worry too much either I mean they did live next door so I guess that makes sense.
"Happy Birthday Babe"
"Thanks Ryder"
"No problem"
He came up to me and engulfed me in a hug. Which might I add was wonderful. Apart from being very handsome, he also smelled great. I never wanted him to let go and maybe I held on too long or he did but apparently Matt didn't like it.
"OK. Ok. That's enough hugging. Now let go of my little sister"
I just made an annoyed  face at Matt and he looked at me and stuck his tongue out like the child he is.
"Dude relax I'm just congratulating the pretty girl on her birthday"
"Ok gross just stop she's my little sister dude"
"Yeah yeah relax man. You know I'm joking."
Even though he said he was joking the words brought a slight blush to my face. I tried to ignore it by eating my food and then Ryder had the brilliant idea of grabbing some of my fries and I slapped his hand away. He should know by now that nobody touches my food.
"Get your own food"
"Wow didnt your parents teach you to share"
"Nope" I said as I smiled
"Well alright then Sunshine" said Ryder quite amused
"You ready to go Sis"
"Yeah let's go... Wait where exactly are we going?"
"It's a surprise"
"Oh come on tell me Matt"
"Ummmm no"
"Ryder?" I did my puppy dog face he usually broke easier than Matt
"Ryder do not look at the face I can not let you tell her now so keep it together man"
"Please Ryder tell me" I looked him straight in the eyes and he wavered for a second but alas he didn't tell me
"Sorry J I can't I made a promise and I can not break the best friend code"
"Fine lets just go I wanna see where we are going"
