You're back

We got to the diner and sat down in a booth. Me and Ryder on one side and Matty on the other.
"So what happened today with the crying?" Asked Matt. He seemed genuinely concerned but I didn't really want to tell him why because it seemed so ridiculous now.
"It was nothing. Just something stupid that happened to me"
Ryder turned to look at me and gave me a smile which made my heart flutter. He kissed my check and Matt just looked at us strangely.
"You were pretty wrecked when I saw you. I thought this shit face had done something"
"Hey" said Ryder "give me a little credit. I would never do anything to make her sad."

Matt just gave me an are you sure look?

"Trust me Matty he didn't do anything it was an issue I was having. Plus I'm fine now. I just needed some time to uhhhh think and well we talked about it a lot so now I feel better" I mean we did talk that part was true but most of our time was spent doing other things. Ryder looked at me and smirked as if he knew what I was thinking. I immediately felt myself blush and I looked down to try and hide it.
"Yeah and we would have done a lot more talking" said Ryder mischievously "if you hadn't rudely shown up and interrupted "
"Ewww dude come on"
"What? Talking is an important part of a relationship" said Ryder feigning innocence.
"I'm going to kick your ass. You piece of shit"
"As if you could even touch me. I am wayyyy stronger than you"
Watching them talk, as mortified as I was by the conversation topic, I was happy that they were interacting like they usually did. Like our relationship was finally normal. I was beginning to feel happy and at peace when that terrible waitress walked to us. Ryder felt me tense up and he immediately put his arm around me and pulled me closer. He was trying his best to show the girl that he wasn't interested but again she didn't get the hint.

"Oh hi handsome you're back" Eww who does this girl think she is. He clearly has his arm wrapped around me and she knows i'm his girlfriend.

" Oh my god. What do I have to do for you to get the hint? Do you want me to make out with my girlfriend right in front of you?Jeez." Said Ryder annoyed that the girl wouldn't leave him alone.

"Like what do you mean? I just want to have some fun you know and your cute." This girl was literally being told that she wasn't wanted and she still didn't get it.

"Well Stop, I don't like you and my girlfriend is literally sitting here with me. Come on have some self respect. Listen, I'm not trying to be mean but we just want to order our food and go." 

The plan had been to eat at the diner but I guess Ryder had gotten so annoyed that he just wanted to leave. I felt bad for the girl but at the same time I liked that Ryder was telling her off. I know I'm a terrible person.

"Whatever dude you're not even that cute or worth it. Hmph!" Said the waitress looking really angry and  embarrassed. I don't think she was used to rejection. She didn't even take our order. She left and somebody else came to help us. It was a guy this time.

"Hey guys, sorry about her. What can I get you guys?"

I answered first because I was so hungry and I knew what I was getting.

"Can I get a grilled cheese with fries and a cookies and cream shake please."

"Sure thing. And for the gentleman?" said the waiter giving me a big smile.

"Cheeseburger and fries and same for him. this is all to go by the way" Ryder answered.

"Alright got it. It will all be ready soon"

"Thanks" I said smiling at the waiter. I was glad we had finally gotten someone nice for a change.

After a while, our food was ready. We paid and went back home to eat. I headed up to my room and Matt and Ryder decided to go play video games. I suddenly got very tired and decided to take a nap. I was woken up by somebody nudging me. I was about to be very angry at this person but then I realized it was Ryder and I tried getting up.
" no stay there I want to lay down with you"
I scooted over and Ryder took the spot next to me.
"Did you guys have fun?" I said groggily
" yeah we played for a while but I missed you so I came to check on you" said Ryder as he wrapped his arms around me.
" I was thinking about the waitress earlier..."
"Oh baby girl I told you she's just jealous and...."
" oh no I'm not upset anymore. I was just thinking that I'm glad she finally got the hint because that is my favorite diner and I would hate to not go"
"Yeah well... I bet that waiter would love to hear that" said Ryder in a mocking tone
" what are you talking about?" I said completely confused.
" Jamie you can't be serious?" He looked over and sat up.
"What?" I said still not understanding
"Oh my beautiful, but completely oblivious, girlfriend. Babe he was into you. He was checking you out even before he came and helped. When the waitress left he practically ran over to try and talk to you"
" you're joking right?" I said in disbelief.
"Oh Please he practically drooled on you." Ryder said while rolling his eyes.
"You're such a liar, he was just being nice."
"Oh so when he smiles and bats his eyes at you, he's being nice, but when the waitress does it, she's flirting." Said Ryder more jokingly than anything.
"No..no...but he wasn't into me."
"Oh really?"
"Yes really, why were you jealous?" I said mischievously
"Me, no I would never get jealous. Hello I'm practically perfect, why would you even bother with him."
"Haha very funny" trying hard to hold in my laughter but flailing miserably. I looked at Ryder and he had a weird grin on his face.
"I have an idea." Said Ryder
"What is it?"
"Well, since you don't believe that the waiter was into you, how about tomorrow we go back to the diner and prove my theory. It'll be a bet"
"Well what do I win when you lose?"
"You mean what will I win when you lose. Hmmm...Anything"
"Anything?'
"Yes anything. Whoever wins gets something that they want from the other, it can be anything within reason obviously."
"Okay, fine its a bet. But FYI you're going to lose" I said quite certain.
"We'll see about that" said Ryder almost confident that he would win, I on the other hand wasn't so sure.
