Remembering the Past

"Jamie I'm home"
I heard a noise but I was so tired that I didn't even notice it was a persons voice. I was snuggled up to something very warm and comfortable. I slowly opened my eyes and realized that Ryder had fallen asleep with me and it was so warm because neither of us were wearing shirts. Ryder was still super asleep and I was about to close my eyes again when suddenly my door was opened and the light was turned on. As my eyes adjusted to the light I realized it was Matt.
"Hey Jam.... What the hell is he doing in your bed!"
Oops Matt was pissed and I could tell but it's not like we did anything wrong. I mean I guess it's not any better that were both not wearing shirts. Even through all that noise Ryder still hadn't woken up but that wasn't going to last very long.
"Would you care to explain Jamie"
"Matt we weren't doing anything wrong I promise. We just fell asleep"
"Why don't we have Ryder explain it to me then"
I began to shake him but he wasn't moving.
"Ryder wake up"
"5 more minutes" I heard him mumble and while I thought it was adorable Matt didn't seem to think so. If looks could kill, Ryder would definitely be dead.
"Listen, look away because this is the only way to wake him up and also I need to put a shirt on. This has happened before and let me tell you it's not easy to wake him up. He's like a hibernating bear."
"What do you mean this has happened before and what are you going to do that requires me to turn around"
Ryder and I had fallen asleep many a time and waking him up was one of the hardest things to do. The only way I had ever figured out how to wake him up was by kissing him and not like a small kiss so I didn't want Matt to see mostly because he would probably get more angry and also because it was weird.
"Gosh just turn around"
"No I don't trust what's about to happen"
"Fine but at least let me put clothes on"
He turned around for a minute which was thankfully enough time for me to put my shirt on. Oh god this was weird but it was the only way I was going to get Ryder to wake up. I turned to Ryder grabbed him by his hair and kissed him and in the process gently bit his lip. He immediately responded and kissed me back but I drew back from the kiss and in that moment he opened his eyes.
"What the hell Jamie"
"I told you to turn around"
He immediately sat up and turned to face Matt
"Hey Matt. Listen let me explain. I know this looks bad but I promise you it isn't"
"Oh really?"
"Yes really. We just fell asleep that's all"
"And I'm supposed to believe you"
"Yes. God why won't you trust me. I have never done anything to make you not trust me"
"What like hiding your relationship with my sister oh for I don't know three months"
"Well there's that... But listen that day in the Ferris wheel I wasn't going to kiss her and I wasn't going to ask her to be my girlfriend but I couldn't help it. I fell in love with her Matt and I tried to ignore it but eventually things just caught up with me"
He was talking about our first date per say.. Wait what?! Wasn't he not supposed to remember anything. Omg he remembered something. I immediately squealed like a child and jumped on top of him kissing him like there was no tomorrow
"Seriously Jamie I'm standing right here" said Matt quite annoyed.
"Yeah babe not that I don't love this but maybe it's not the right time"
"Did either of you just here what you said"
"Yeah I said I didn't mean to kiss you that day"
"Exactly"
"Jamie what was him saying that have to do with anything?"
"Gahh you nitwits... Hello he didn't mean to kiss me that day as in past tense... Seriously nothing..."
They just both looked at me with confused expressions.
"You remembered something...you have amnesia you dummy"
It finally dawned on them what had happened.
"I remembered something. I finally remembered something"
Matt tried to continue being angry but he did crack a smile a very little one but a smile nevertheless.
"Yeah ok now back to the matter at hand. I don't appreciate you coming to my house and taking advantage of my little sister"
"For the million time Matthew I did not do anything with your sister."
"How am I supposed to believe you when I just saw you two practically eating each other's faces"
"It was just a kiss Matthew"
"What about the time I called you on the phone and you were out of breath and said I had interrupted something"
"That was nothing. We didn't do anything wrong"
"Yeah because I stopped you. And what about the time I caught you in his room. I didn't know it was you but now that I do it makes me not trust you"
"Again we didn't do anything"
"Yeah I definitely don't believe you"
I was tired of listening to this and I exploded as I usually did when I kept things bottled up for a while.
"Listen Matt and listen very closely. I am going to be straightforward because I am tired of this fucking bullshit"
There I go again with my potty mouth that only exists when I'm angry.
"Fine"
"I am going to be very clear. I did not have sex with your best friend nor with anyone else. I am a still a virgin but if I did have sex with him and if I wasn't a virgin, it would be none of your damn fucking business"
"Jamie relax stop"
"No Matt I am fucking irritated and I can't deal with your childish shit. Fuck you Matt. I don't need to explain myself to you and if you can't understand this, then I don't care."
"You have to understand that this is not ok"
"Go to hell"
I knew that he thought he was doing what was best for me but I could make my own decisions. I may not be an adult but I am old enough to understand what is right and what is wrong and being with Ryder is not wrong. Ryder had just been staring at me the whole time because it was rare for me to use such foul language.
"Fuck Me. God you look so hot when you're angry"
I'm pretty sure he did not mean to say that aloud unless he wanted to die. He was also biting his lip and staring at me very intensely which sent shivers through me.
"Hey watch your mouth Ryder" Matt said quite aggressively. I was actually scared that he might punch him at some point.
"Did I say that out loud?"
"Yes you asshole"
Ryder immediately blushed and lowered his head feeling very embarrassed.
"Sorry I really didn't mean to.. I would never .... Oh screw this!! Listen Matt I am not sorry. I don't understand why I have to apologize. I shouldn't have to explain myself to you or anybody else. I get that she's your little sister but it's not like I chose to like her it just happened. I'm not sorry for thinking she is beautiful and amazing. I'm not sorry for thinking that she is the most wonderful person I've ever known. I'm not sorry for thinking that I can't live without her. And I am definitely not sorry for being in love with her. She makes me happy Matt. Why can't you understand that?"
"I get it Ryder but if this is really how you felt about her this whole time then why didn't you tell me"
"Because I was afraid of the way you would react and I was afraid that you would hate me and I didn't want to lose you but I've just made it worse"
"Hey, no you don't get to do that. It was also my fault we didn't tell him. I kept telling you we should wait and you were just being supportive"
I hated that he was trying to take all the blame when he knew that I was the one who wasn't ready to tell Matt.
"Yeah Babe but I just can't help feeling like a horrible friend"
"Guys I'm not going to lie and say that if you would have told me sooner I'd be any happier but maybe I would have had more time to process it and maybe I would of thought of it differently. It's just I know you and I know how you are Ryder. You hang around a lot of girls and you flirt and then all you do is break their hearts. You get tired of them and then you dump them. How do I know that you're not going to do that with my sister?"
"I just... I can't remember anything and I don't know who I was or how I acted but all I know is that I love her.. I need you to understand"
After saying this Ryder held his head and looked like he was in pain and before I could ask what was wrong. He passed out.
