I still didn't know where we were going but we drove off and when we got there I was so happy. It was a fair Matt knew I loved fairs especially since we used to go every year with our parents.
"OMG! Matt you are the best"
"Yeah I know"
I immediately ran off and I went to the games. I loved baseball and I loved playing so I was pretty good at throwing a ball and knocking those pins down so I went there first. Ryder followed me and Matt went to go get the unlimited rides bracelet because if we were doing this, we were doing this right way. I threw the first ball and I knocked down the first two pins but I needed four more and I only had two balls left. Out of the corner of my eye,
I noticed this girl staring at Ryder but I didn't think much of it.
"Oh come on babe you can do better than that"
"Yeah I know but go stand over there you're making me nervous"
"Fine, Fine"
I was about to throw the ball when the girl that was staring At Ryder came up to me.
"Hey sorry but is that guy your boyfriend. It's just I heard him call you babe"
"Oh no he's just my friend well my brothers best friend"
"So you don't mind if I ask him out?"
"No why should I?"
"Cool thanks"
The truth was I did mind but I couldn't say anything about it because it's not like Ryder was my boyfriend. I turned around and I could hear them talking since they were only a few feet away
"Hey I'm Stacy I just thought you were pretty cute and I was wondering if you would like to go on a date"
I was trying so hard not to go over there and be like sorry i changed my mind he's mine. My hands were literally balled into fists.
I turned back around because I really didn't want to see or hear this anymore. I tried to smile but my face was not cooperating.
Matt came back and saw me scowling but didn't say anything about it. I think he just assumed that i was frustrated over the game I was playing. I really wished it could be me asking Ryder out but I knew that wouldn't happen. With all the frustration and anger I had, I threw the last two balls and knocked down all the pins. After that I cheered up a bit because I got the biggest teddy bear ever.
"Wow babe I never thought you would knock those down. And the teddy is for me right?" said Ryder once he saw me.
"Yeah well I can be very surprising And you wish"
I decided to forget the whole girl incident and I just had fun. We spent most of the day there and I was saving the best ride for last, the Ferris wheel. Matt was scared of heights so me and Ryder went on it while he went to go get some food. As we reached the top the ride broke down. I was kind of freaked out but I tried to stay as calm as possible.
"Sorry folks but there's been a break down and it will take us about 20 minutes to fix it"
At this moment Ryder pulled out a long rectangular black box
" I was going to give you this later but since we're going to be here for 20 minutes I might as well give it to you now"
I opened the box and it was a beautiful silver necklace that had a little diamond pendant on it.
"It's beautiful Ryder thank you"
I gave him a hug and as we let go he looked me straight in the eyes and it looked like he was torn over something. He looked at me never turning away

as soon as he said this he smashed his lips against mine and at first I was shocked but then I reacted and began kissing him back.
"Jamie I'm sorry I don't know why I did that. I mean I do know why but I shouldn't have done it"
"What the hell Ryder?!" I wasn't mad I was just shocked because the guy who I've liked for forever just kissed me.
" I can't lie to you anymore Jamie. I've liked you for a really long time but I couldn't say anything because Matt would kill me and you are never supposed to date you're best friends little sister but I couldn't help it anymore. I have wanted to do that for such a long time but I just I'm sorry I shouldn't have put you in this position"
I knew he was going to keep rambling so I did the only thing I could think of to shut him up and I kissed him back. After a while we pulled apart and for a minute we just sat there not saying anything.
"That was...Wow.. I don't even know what to say anymore"
"It's my turn to tell the truth. I like you too"
"You do?"
"Yes I like you a lot but I never thought you would like me too and I was scared that if I said something I would just be ruining your friendship with Matt. I really like you but I just don't know because Matt would probably hurt you, you know how protective he is"
"What if we don't tell him. At least for now so that we could see how this goes and maybe we could give little hints and stuff you know not just throw this at him all at once"
"I guess that could work"
" So what do you say? Will you go out with me?"
I literally couldn't believe it I was so happy. I hated lying to my brother but I deserved to be happy for once and it's not like we weren't going to tell him at all this was just temporary.
"Yes"
He then kissed me again and I felt like I had never before. His kisses were electrifying and I couldn't contain myself.
After a while we just held hands and sat in a comfortable and happy silence. Then they announced the ride was fixed and I let go of his hand and at first he was confused but then he saw that Matt was coming and understood.
"Hey guys sorry I took so long but the line was gigantic. I guess everybody tries to buy food at the end of the day"
"It's ok we were stuck on the Ferris wheel they just fixed it right now"
"What did you guys do for that long?"
"Oh nothing really. Ryder just gave me my present"
I was really bad at lying so I immediately looked down and turned red but my brother didn't notice.
"Oh what was it?"
I pulled out the necklace and showed him
"Wow that's nice you should put it on"
"Ryder can you put it on me"
"Yeah of course babe"
I smiled and as I turned around I saw him smiling too because we realized that the word had so much more meaning now that he was actually my boyfriend. Ok maybe I was getting to ahead of myself   But that's what I wanted him to be, my boyfriend.
"Why are you guys smiling?"
"Oh ... Umm ... We just remembered a something funny we saw on the Ferris wheel "
"Right like there could be anything funny on those death traps"
"Oh come on Matty they're not that scary"
"Easy for you to say"
"She's right Matt you should just try to get on next time. you'll probably like it.
"No thank you lets just go eat our food and go home cause I'm tired"
Once we were done eating we went home. Ryder was going to stay over today. I was kind of excited but at the same time we really couldn't hang out cuz Matt was here obviously.
"I'm going to the bathroom I'll be back"
As soon as Matt left the room Ryder kissed me but then we heard the bathroom flush and pulled apart.
"Sorry Babe but I'm not going to be able to do that for a while"
"I wasn't complaining" I said this with the stupidest happy grin on my face.
