Jealousy?

Today was going to be an interesting day. A new student was coming in and I had to show them around the school. I didn't know anything about this person but I mean it couldn't be that bad. I was actually in a really good mood today because Matt has backed off and Ryder and I have been able to spend more time together. It was super hot today I swear this weather is crazy. I decided to wear something a little more cool. Usually I wouldn't dress like this for school but it was freaking hot and I was done caring. I put on a black t shirt style crop top and some dark blue denim short shorts and my converse. It was too hot to leave my hair down so I put it up into a ponytail and I was ready to go.
"J let's go"
"I'll be there in a second"
I grabbed my backpack, headed down stairs and got into Ryder's car. We drove off to school and as I got out of the car I noticed Ryder staring. Matt looked over to Ryder and noticed he was looking at me and he hit him in the head.
"Ow you fucker what was that for"
"Stop checking my little sister out"
I thought this was hilarious and I couldn't help but laugh
"I wasn't.... I mean..."
"Just shut up and let's go"
As he was walking away he turned around and winked at me which made me blush. Sadly I was headed to the office to go pick up the new student. As I walked in I saw a boy that I knew I hadn't seen before so I asked him if he was new and surely enough he said yes. After a quick chat he told me his name was Michael.
"So I'm going to be your guide for today I guess and yeah I'll just show you around"
"When they said I'd be getting a guide I never thought it would be such a pretty one"
"Ummm thanks?"
I didn't really know what to say I wasn't really one for getting or accepting compliments. After some awkward silence I finally spoke up.
"So it seems that we have the same schedule. You can just follow me and yeah"
We got to our first class and Michael sat in Ryder's seat and I wanted to say something but I didn't want to make him feel bad. When Ryder walked in he had a puzzled look on his face. Ryder took Matts seat and when Matt came in he had to sit all the way on the other side of the classroom.
"Babe why is he in my seat?"
"He's new and I have to show him around"
"Mhmm"
After that Ryder didn't talk to me anymore. The lesson went on and it was boring as usual and finally the bell rang and it was time to go to nutrition.
"So where's the cafeteria?"
"Oh it's this way come on. You can sit with me if you'd like since you don't really know anyone"
"Cool Thanks"
As we were sitting down I noticed Ryder was staring this way and I smiled at him but he just looked annoyed. I don't know what his deal was but I didn't like it.
"So what usually goes on here?"
"Nothing much it's pretty calm and...."
I am going to kill her. Tina was sitting next to Ryder and she was dangerously close to him. I was about to get up and yell at her but Ryder stood up and left Tina there. And again he looked annoyed.
"Hey sorry Michael I'll be right back"
I walked out of the cafeteria into the hallway where Ryder was looking angry.
"Ryder what's wrong?"
"Nothing"
"It's not nothing you seem annoyed"
"Just leave it alone ok Jamie"
"Whatever Ryder"
I walked back in the cafeteria and I was angry because Ryder was being a dick. He called me Jamie which only happens if he's mad or he's trying to be serious. Right now I knew he was mad but if he didn't tell me what was wrong I couldn't do anything about it.
"Hey are you ok?"
I had sat down and I guess I was crying cause Michael had wiped a tear from my face.
"Yeah I'm fine"
The rest of the day I was just in a bad mood and when it was time for music class it just got much worse.
"So this is the music room. You can do whatever you want really the teacher doesn't even notice"
"Thanks for showing me around beautiful"
Michael was leaning in. Was he trying to kiss me?
Before he could do anything I pushed him back but this is when Ryder decided to come in and he looked pissed. He went to his seat and ignored me.
"Woah First of all I just met you. Why would you think it was ok to kiss me. I really don't have time for any of this right now so just please back off"
"Oh come on babe you know you want to"
"Do not call me babe and do not get near me"
I thought this guy was nice but I guess not I walked away and left him standing there. He was an idiot if he thought I would kiss him. I sat down next to Ryder like I usually did but he didn't look happy.
"Hello Jamie"
"What is your problem Ryder?!"
"Nothing"
"Then leave me alone"
"Fine"
"Fine"
We spent the whole class ignoring each other and on the drive home we didn't talk at all. This went on for the rest of the day. I was starting to miss Ryder but at the same time I as mad at him because I didn't even know what I had done wrong. I was tired of this and I hoped that it would end soon.
