As she stared down into her cup she wondered how things got so messed up.
She wondered how things got so confusing and painful, and how had her self-esteem and self-control could have just delimish.
She has let people break her all the way down she thought, to the point she was just a shell of nothingness and pure aching pain.
Whatever. It doesn't matter, her feelings didnt matter, her thoughts didn't matter; her life itself didn't matter. Not even to her.
She looked up to notice a man was walking over to her.
"Hello. I realize this is none of my business but, why are you drinking hot chocolate in the middle of a heat wave?" He looked down at his phone and continued, "It's currently 104."
I paused while studying him, "To thaw out my ice cold beating heart."
With that I left money on the table and walked out of the bakery.
