Chapter 17

My heart plummeted.

N was the King of Team Plasma?!

I struggled to keep my cool, "N. why didn't you tell me this earlier?" I asked him. I was shaking uncontrollably, but I couldn't tell if it was of sorrow or rage. Probably both.

"Because I love you. I was afraid Yellow. Afraid that if you found out, you would hate me forever. I wanted to get to know you. I wanted to become your friend, my love. I wanted you to be mine forever."

I turned away from him, "N. I'm sorry, but I can't be yours... I'm... I'm against Team Plasma."

N took my hand gently, "Yellow. Please stay with me. We can figure something out, and-"

"No N." I said, pulling out if his grasp, "Not right now. I'm just so... Confused. I'm not sure what I want now. Just give me some time to think." I said calmly.

I then walked into the forest.

And once I was out of N's sight, I ran, tear flowing freely. I ran deep into the forest and climbed up a tree.

"Why did it have to be N, of all people..." I sobbed to myself.

"Yellow? Is that you?" I looked down to see Sakkaku looking up at me, "Yellow? What's wrong?"

"Go away Sakkaku. I wanna be alone right now." I said as I buried my face in my knees.

I felt the tree shake a bit and the branch I was on wobble a bit.

"Yellow. Tell me what happened." Sakkaku said gently.

"N. He... He's King of Team Plasma. Why did HE of all people have to be their king?" I sobbed.

"N? You mean your friend that you've been traveling with?"

"Yeah..." I sniffled.

"Yellow. Don't worry. Friends come and go. I should know. I've lost too many friends to count."

"But don't you see?! I love him!" I wailed.

Sakkaku sighed, "Is that the reason you're crying?"

I nodded and looked up at her. She had a caring look in her eyes, and sympathy was in her voice, "Yellow. I don't know how you feel right now, Because I never had anyone like that before. But I do know that everything will be alright."

"I-I-I know. But I feel so broken. I fell for him. I loved him. And now I find out... That he was the one behind all the crimes. He was the one who left you in the prisons when he took me out. He was the one behind the robbery of the Dragon Fossil. He was behind it all!"

Sakkaku held me in her lap, like a bigger sibling would do for a younger sibling who was having a hard time, "Yellow. Don't worry. You'll be fine. Just remember that what he's doing is gonna eventually come around and bite him in the *ss! Then he'll be sorry. And if you want to go back to him then, you two can have each other. If not, then you'll find someone new. Life goes on Yellow. I know what it feels like to loose someone you care about. I know it all too well..." She trailed off a bit.

I smiled a bit, "Thanks Sakkaku. I feel a little better now."

"Your welcome. And just remember. If you ever need anything, I'll be there for you."

I hugged her for a moment before jumping down. I had better get to Driftveil City if I want a place to sleep...
