Lily's POV
Tyler got out of the hospital after three days. He still isn't walking but that doesn't matter to me. I have been getting his schoolwork for him and helping him with it these past few weeks. "Lily, are you staying for dinner sweetheart?" Autumn asked me. "Yes please." I said. She smiled and shut Tyler's door. I cuddled back up next to Tyler. "Please stop stressing baby." I said. "I'm trying." He said. I kissed his chest. "I love you." I said. "I love you too." He whispered. There was a knock at the door. "Come in." Tyler said. Lacey walked in. "Tyler, can we play outside please?" Lily asked. "Dinner is almost ready sweetie. Maybe after dinner." He said trying not to get upset. Lacey nodded and left the room. Tyler soon started crying. "I hate saying no to her. I can't do this Lily. I hate not being able to play with her." He said. "I promise baby. It will all get better soon. You will be walking again." I said. He nodded and I held him as he cried into my chest. Once he calmed down we headed down to dinner with help from his dad. "Tyler, you have therapy after we eat." His dad said. He nodded. "I will take him." I chimed in. "Thanks." Tyler said. I smiled and kissed his cheek. We ate in silence. After we finished, I helped Lacey with the dishes while Tyler sat with his parents. "How can she love me? I can't do anything with her." I heard Tyler say. "Tyler, she loves you for you. It doesn't matter if you can walk or not. We all know she isn't going to leave you." His mom said. "I'm not man enough for her. She is going to leave me." He sobbed. "Tyler Michael Purdy, you shut your mouth. That girl in there loves you so much. We knew this since you two were toddlers. She is never going to leave you and if you believe that she is then you don't deserve her." His dad said. Lacey pulled on my hand. "You aren't going to leave are you." She asked. "I will never leave Lace." I said drying my tears. I picked her up and hugged her tightly. "I just got a call from my mom. There is an emergency at home. I'm sorry I can't take you baby. I love you." I said kissing him. I grabbed my backpack and walked out of the house. I got home and my mom was standing in the doorway. "So what is this emergency?" she asked. I started crying. She wrapped her arms around me. "Don't worry. I covered for you sweetie and said Tattoo got hurt." She said. I nodded. She helped me inside. "What is wrong?" she asked. "Tyler thinks I am going to leave him because he can't walk. I would never leave him for something so stupid as that. I don't care if he can walk or not. I just want him healthy." I sobbed. She held as I cried. "Did Tyler make you cry?" my dad came in asking. I kept crying. "I am going to kill that boy." He said grabbing his keys. "Don't you dare fucking touch him." I screamed. "Baby girl, calm down. I have never seen you this upset." My dad said. Lucas was even down here now. "Let me talk to her. Come on Lily." Lucas said. I followed him upstairs. "Lily, we both know Tyler is going through a rough time right now. Don't take every thing he says to heart. He loves you so much. I see it in the way he looks at you. It is the same way I look at Robin." He said. I nodded. The next few days, I distanced myself from Tyler. I am not happy that I am doing it but I can't help it if he thinks I am going to leave him. I served the table I was waiting on and went back to being sitting in the front of the restaurant. "Lily." I heard a voice say. I looked up and saw Autumn. "Honey, I need you to come over please." She said. "I can't and you know why." I said as my vice cracked. "Honey, he loves you and knows that you won't leave him. He is just in a very dark place right now." She said. "I'll come take him to therapy later." I said. She nodded and left. I finished my shift and headed to Tyler's. He was sitting outside with Lacey and his mom. "Tyler, you're ride is here." Autumn said. He looked up and saw me. It looked like he was about to cry. He got to my car and managed to get in. Autumn put his wheelchair in the back and we drove off. It was quiet. "I do love you and if you ever doubt that then don't be with me." I said as we pulled up to the therapist office. He was about to say something but I climbed out of the car and got the wheelchair out. I helped him inside and he left to go with his therapist. I sat by on my phone and watched as the therapist worked with his legs. I heard Tyler scream in frustration. "This is so fucking pointless. I will never be able to walk again." He said slamming his fist down on the table. "Tyler, you need to calm down. You have been making amazing progress. You are moving your toes now. You will be walking again soon." The therapist said. I didn't know he could move his toes. Why didn't he tell me? He finished his session and we headed back to his house. "Just leave me already!" Tyler screamed. I slammed on the breaks and pulled over. "I am not going to fucking leave you." I screamed. I began driving back towards his house and noticed no one is home. "Yes, you are. I know you are. I can't be the man that you need." He said. "Tyler, I love you so fucking much. I am never going to leave over something as pointless as you not walking." I said in tears. We headed into his house. We got up to his room with difficulty. "Lillian, leave me. I am done. We're through. I am not putting you through this. I don't want you to be my girlfriend anymore." He said. My heart shattered. "Do you really mean that?" I said crying. My chest started getting tight. I clawed at my chest. I started gasping for breath. "Lily." He said reaching for me. I backed away and bumped into someone. It was Ashley. He held me in his arms and calmed me down. "What happened?" he asked. "I'm not welcomed here anymore." I said crying. I left Ashley there with Tyler and ran downstairs. "I'll see you tomorrow Lily." Lacey said waving goodbye from her mother's arms. Autumn saw the distress in my face. "Maybe not Lace. Bye sweetheart. I love you." I said. I climbed into my car and drove off home. "DADDY!" I screamed collapsing to the floor. I started sobbing uncontrollably. "Oh my god, Lily." He said. He ran over and held me in his arms. "He dumped me. He said he didn't want me to leave him so he left me. He thinks that I care that he can't walk." I sobbed. "Oh Lilypad." He said holding me. "I love him daddy." I said weakly. "I know you do baby. I am so sorry." He said. I headed up to my room and cried myself to sleep.
