Chapter 13

Lily's POV

I pet Lady as Tyler groomed Teddy. "Please take me riding." I begged for the millionth time. "Your mother will kill me in my sleep." Tyler said. "Please baby." I whined. He groaned. "Fine but no telling your mother." He said. I nodded and ran to grab a saddle. I have watched Tyler tack up his horse so many times that I know how to do it. I got Lady all ready to go and then I felt something on my head. "Seriously a helmet." I whined. "I wouldn't be able to deal with myself if you got hurt." Tyler said. I nodded and buckled it. I climbed up on Lady as he climbed onto Teddy. We headed onto the trail behind his house. "Remember how my dad taught you to ride?" he asked. I nodded and headed off down the trail. I had Lady start to gallop. "Don't get hurt. Slow down." Tyler yelled. I chuckled and reached the river. I had Lady stop and she got a drink from the river. "Would you please be careful?" Tyler asked. "Since when I have and the word careful got along?" I asked. He laughed and leaned over to kiss me. I leaned over and connected my lips with his. "I love you." I said. "I love you too. We started heading back to his house since it was getting late. We cleaned off the horses and put them away. "Thanks for letting me go out riding with you." I said. "Welcome." He said wrapping his arm around my shoulder as we walked into the house. "There you two are. Go wash up so we can get to the beach for the bonfire." Autumn said. We rolled our eyes and headed upstairs. I ran for his shower and shed my clothes, climbing in. "I beat you." I yelled out. "As if you think I wouldn't join you." He said jumping in with me. We took a fast shower with no funny business and got dressed. "Can I borrow a sweatshirt?" I asked. "By borrow do you mean I will get it back in a few months." He said. I laughed and nodded. He tossed me a hoodie and I slipped it on taking in his scent. "I love it." I said. "I know you do. Now let's go downstairs." He said. I pulled my hair up into a messy bun and jumped on his back. "Onward." I giggled. He rolled his eyes and headed downstairs. We climbed into the car and headed to the beach. When we got there the fire was already started. "Uncle Batman." I yelled hugging him. "Hey short stuff." He said ruffling my hair. "Where are Lucas and Robin?" I asked. "They went for a walk to find more wood for the fire." He said. I nodded. We sat around the fire and I rested my head on Tyler's shoulder. Fireworks started going off and I looked up into the sky. "They are so pretty." I said. "Not as pretty as you." Tyler said kissing my cheek. I blushed and buried my face into his shoulder. "Look at the fireworks." He said. I looked up and my jaw dropped. I looked over at Tyler. "So will you?" he asked. I looked back up in the sky where it said Lily, will you go to prom with me. I looked at him and nodded. I kissed him. "Yes, I would love to." I said. He smiled and I heard a camera. "I got pictures of everything." Autumn squealed as she and my mom looked at the pictures. I blushed and buried my face in Tyler's shoulder again. "Hey, let's go for a walk." He said. I nodded. He stood up and took my hand. We headed off down the beach and the water hit my feet. I squealed at how chilly it was. Tyler chuckled. I smiled and interlaced my fingers with his. "Oh shush. It is chilly." I said. He smiled and lifted me up onto his back. "Better?" he asked. I nodded and rested my head on his shoulder. I kissed his cheek. "I love you." I said. "I love you too." He said. I felt something go onto my finger. "What's that?" I asked. "I don't know what you are taking about." He said. I lifted up my hand and saw a ring on my finger. "Tyler." I said. "What? It is a promise ring. I promise to love you until the end of time. And I promise one day you and I will get married and have kids." He said. I climbed off his back and spun him around. I kissed him hard wrapping my arms around his neck. "I hate how much I love you." I whispered. "I know you do." He said kissing me back. We walked up into the sand and laid down. I rested my head on his chest. He stroked my hair softly. We just laid there in silence looking up at the stars. "Look a shooting star. Make a wish." I said. "I have everything I could wish for right here." He said. I blushed and kissed his chest. I shivered. "Come on. Let's get back to the fire." He said. I nodded. We got up and I climbed back onto his back. We got back to the fire and he plopped me down on a log. "Hey." I whined. He chuckled and sat next to me. I rested my head on his shoulder and he wrapped his arms around my waist. "Jeez, you really make her all mushy." Lucas said. I stuck my tongue out at him. "Hey you are like silly putty in Robin's hand. You would do anything for her just like I would for Tyler." I said. "Touché." He replied. Tyler kissed my cheek. "We stayed out and roasted some marshmallows and joked around. I started to drift off to sleep. "Looks like someone is getting sleepy." I heard my dad say. I smiled. "I'll take her home." Tyler said. "We didn't take a car." I yawned. "Here take my keys. We can go home with mom and dad." Lucas said. "Thanks." I said. We walked to his car and climbed in. I fell asleep in the car and woke up being carried up my front steps. "Ooo we're home." I said smiling. Tyler chuckled. We got up to my room and he lied me in bed. I snuggled up in my covers and Tyler kissed my forehead. "Get in my bed." I said. "As you wish." He said. He climbed in next to me and wrapped his arms around me. I slowly fell asleep again.
