Months later. Madiline wakes up, tired, and climbs out of her bed dazed. As she heads to the shower straight across from her room and she sees every part of her family asleep still. She glances at the clock at the end of hall and sees 5:15 , according to the hands. She sighs and heads in the shower.

As she dries off and puts her clothes on. An orange shirt with with jeans and a brown leather belt. She had extra clippings of leather but want to be sure of what she would do with those . She reaches for the brush and brushes her brown and blonde highlights out and grabs a orange band and ties her hair in a high ponytail. She looks up at her mirror and doesn't notice she left out strands of hair. She looks around for some shoes and can only find her boots carved out the word M near the bottom of the boot heel. She slips them on and looks at her sword encased in scabbard that she had found at her doorstep, that came with a dagger in the same scabbard. She didn't know why she would need them but had a feeling that something was going to happen, so she took them and put them in her backpack , and put a black jacket in there too , just in case it had rained. She looks at the time again as she leaves her room and enters the hallway and sees 5:59.

School starts in two hours , I should be able to make it from here. Looks in her brothers room and sees them asleep. Looks in her parents room and sees them stirring and decides she should leave now and puts her backpack on and heads out and reaches the door and looks around . Unlocks it and takes one last look around and steps out and closes the door. As she steps outside she takes in the air and turns around to see dawn staring up at her. As she starts walking to school she looks around as the world still sleeps , some half awake.

I have never left this early. Oh ! I just remembered! I didn't do my math homework! Uggg, now my teacher is going to kill me! Now the girls at school are going to bully me too. Yay! Another great day for me! I don't want to talk to my ' parents ' either. I hate being adopted.

She sighs and frowns as she pushes the button on the busy intersection. She almost got ran over here yesterday , yet that was another great day too. As the light turns yellow and people speed by and other stop, the white lit up person is shown on the sign across the street . She looks and see if any cars are coming and sees none and starts walking as fast as she could . She keeps looking but hears a car and looks and sees a car zoom by her, missing her feet by an inch from the big round tires. She growls and looks at the person who is now a hand with a one next to it on the cross walk sign. She panics and races to the other side as a car races behind her making the zipper behind her zip open. As she reaches the sidewalk she looks behind her dropping her note book beside her. She picks it up and looks at the road she just crossed filled with blurry racing cars. She walks away up the hill on the sidewalk putting her note book back in her backpack . Half mad half astonished she walks the hill tired now the sun barely leaving the horizon but as she reaches the top of the hill she finds a bench and sits down wiping the sweat of her face and sighs.

" I knew I should have taken the other way ." As she puts her hand down as the sun gazes behind her and gets up and sees her shadow in front of her as she walks following it not to far from her school now. She keeps walking and sees another cross walk sign and starts walking . Thank goodness she didn't get run over again. She did it one more time and now she only had to walk from there.

As she came up the sidewalk to her school she had gaped that no teacher or student was there yet. She walked to where she would go inside and saw the lights dim. She banged on the door thinking school already started and tries finding a teacher or clock. She finds a clock and the hands say "It's 7:14". Knowing school didn't start till 8:25, she put her ear to the cold glass door and listens but only hears the air vents blowing above in the school. No footsteps, talking, or doors closing just like she wanted to hear.
