Chapter Seven: Complete Rouge

Sapphire jolts up from her nightmare and looks at Madiline to make sure she was still there. Sighing relieved, she got down from the tree seeing the ground fresh with puddles and ripples in them coming from the light drizzle of rain above. Today is the day I have to train her to hunt,fight,and run. Again, and why does she keep saying there are police cars following us. She sighs and looks at her damp hair and knows it will be a drag if she ran today. She saw Madiline still asleep with her hood on and decided to get some water from last night and take a bit. She saw Madiline sleeping on her back pack and growled with the thunder as the rain grew harder . She walked over to Madiline and cuffed her hands over her mouth making the voice sound louder.

" Madiline wake up! It's raining and there is Lightning!" Sapphire started to feel anxious as more thunder sounded getting closer, and the rain was pounding harder." And the river might flood !" She saw Madiline get up surprised and zipped up her jacket and put on her hood .

Sapphire sighed as she put her deer skin away in her leather brown bag. She felt the weight of her hair start dragging her down as she looked and saw her long brown hair drenched in rain and looked at Madiline and saw her ponytail and strands of hair wet .She pulled out her cup and held it out. Madiline handed it to her and Sapphire smiled as she drank some . As she gave it back she heard louder rumbling , from the clouds and the road. No, there is no police cars, we can't scare her.

" Do you even hear that!? I know it is police cars Sapph!" Madiline argued as she helped put away the stones and half burnt sticks into the open, but the sticks were now wet with fresh rain fall.

Sapphire gets up astonished at her and how she knew exactly what her mother called her and growled," Sapph is for people who are my friends," She spat ," you're an apprentice ma'am ." She got up and saw a sheet of white and bright come her way. A loud boom sounded in the distance and she knew it was getting closer. Face your fears , the storm can't stop you from going to the mountains. " Drink some water and we'll get going." She half yelled over the rain . It's just a shower, and it's just water, with lightning.

Madiline nodded and drank some water then put the canteen in her backpack. Sapphire moved her heads towards the storm but Madiline hesitated , then nodded running in the mud towards the storm. Sapphire looked back feeling eyes that met hers and growled taking out her sword then followed Madiline catching up on her heels.

" Just because it's raining doesn't mean we won't practice. Go on, faster. " Sapphire commented still on her heels but she was going faster, when she was Sapphire looked behind her worried but couldn't show it. She said kids were following her, I couldn't listen any further than that. Sapphire sighs and runs faster on her heels again she heard something behind her , the wailing again. " Madiline , keep running but when you hear me stop I want you to watch carefully. We are going to practice fighting today. "Sapphire whispered. She saw Madiline nod and keep running at her pace . As the wailing got louder she could see the lights form the car then they stopped as she heard yells and she stopped then heard quick feet run up a tree that sheltered her. Sapphire saw five police men run up to her and she growled half with annoyance , half knowing she was going to win.

" Oh, look. It's the escape artist." Said one as they all laughed .

Another commented," Can't run as fast in the rain can you ? Ask your mother to cut your hair for you." They laughed again.

" I'd be more worried about how you are going to get out of the mess I will put you in if you keep taunting me." She growled mad put lets her anger build a fire inside of her broken heart healing slowly knowing she was safe in the forest. The forest was her home, she would fight for it and that was exactly what she would do.
