"Let me Laugh Again" V Fanfiction

Chapter 1: Rainy Days

V was slumped defeatedly against the bus seat. He wore his hood up as if to shield himself from the pain. He couldn't understand why his heart hurt so much. Maybe he cared for her more than he thought he did. As if adding to his grief, the rain fell hard against the bus window. He tried hard not to curse and put on his earphones to listen to some music to dull out the pain.

Lee Juck's "Rain" started to play and V was assailed by a myriad of emotions. He felt himself tearing up, so he swallowed hard and looked heavenward to stop the tears. When he calmed down a bit, he looked out the window and got lost in his thoughts, as he promised himself one thing: 'I won't be so easy - next time'. And the bus rolled on quietly home.

V was dreaming nicely about sailing into the Grand Line on his own pirate ship when an annoying person was disturbing him. He slowly opened his eyes and wondered who woke him. Gradually, his sleepiness went away and he realized that Jhope woke him.

"V! V! Why are you sleeping again?" Jhope asked. He shook the last of the grogginess away and licked his dry lips. "Oh, it's you Jhope!" he replied tiredly. He stretched a bit and then stood up to get some water. He passed Suga on the way and he saw RapMon fiddling with his phone on the couch. Jin was eating - as usual, and Jungkook was acting cute on the phone with- 'Oh, so he's going out with someone now huh?' V thought. Jimin was pouting beside Jungkook and was trying in vain to get his attention.

V got some water and drank. He was revived a bit and decided to wreak some mischief now that he was rested. He saved Jimin from embarrassing himself in front of Jungkook and told him about his plan. They were giggling uncontrollably when Mr. Go; their manager said, "Alright guys, the shoot's over - let's head home now" "Awwww" V and Jimin groaned in unison. All seven of them trooped to the elevators that led to the basement parking.

Myungsoo carefully drove them out of the building and steadily set a pace for home. The streets were wet due to the unrelenting rain since this morning. V tried not to remember a painful memory on rainy days - but his heart just can't seem to forget - yet.

He looked out the van window mindlessly when their van screeched to a scary stop. Good thing they all wore seat belts. "What happened?" "Is everyone okay?" "What was that?" "What's wrong Myungsoo?"

Suga smiled an off-kilter smile and said, "Remember when this happened not so long ago with Jungkook too?" All the other members stopped and stared at grandpa Suga. "I bet there's a girl involved again!" he laughed as he continued his prediction.

Myungsoo recovered and said in a shout, "Look guys! That's the car that I wanted to avoid crashing into!" They all looked at the car on its belly after it flipped thrice when it avoided the car that overtook them. V rushed outside into the pouring rain. He didn't know what made him do it but he sensed an urgency that he never felt before - to save the person or persons inside the car.

All the other occupants of their van shouted at him to be careful and their manager called for an ambulance. Luckily, the driver's door was on the upended side; so V hurriedly yet carefully dove into the wreck while calling out, "Hey - I'm here to help!!!" he tried not to be frantic so that the people in the car won't panic as well. Thanks to the rain, the car didn't catch on fire, but there was too much smoke.

RapMon, Suga and Jin were now making their way to him. V felt a shot of fear course through him when he heard someone groaning. He blinked away the rain and asked, "Hey there - it's alright, I'm here now..." he said softly as he cradled the person's head.

V saw that it was indeed a girl. She coughed and opened her eyes. V felt another jolt to the heart when he looked into her eyes. The girl had big but unusual caramel colored eyes.

She looked back at him, with her head bleeding and said, "Hi" then passed out.
