"Let me Laugh Again" V Fanfiction

Chapter 25: You have to survive!

Min-ji had never felt this peaceful in her life.

      She woke up to a blindingly white room. She didn't know how big the room was. She didn't know how she knew but she believed that it resembled a huge box and she was in it. There was nothing around, no one around; no rooms - nothing.

      Min-ji looked at herself and saw that she was wearing her hospital gown. She decided to walk around but she couldn't see anything so she just sat down. Eventually, she got tired so she curled up into her side and slept.

      In the O.R. The doctors were working quickly to save her life. She has lost so much blood already so they needed to stop the bleeding so she won't die.

      V rushed through the doors of the hospital's ER. Well, he wanted to anyway.

      But in reality, he had to sneak in to the hospital in the wee hours of the morning, to avoid another scandal. V covered his whole face with a black mask but avoided wearing black clothes and pants because he might stand out more. He went to the Nurse's Station and inquired where Min-ji was. She was still in the O.R. so he couldn't see her yet, but he didn't let that stop him.

      V made a show of going back to the lobby but when he checked that nobody was looking, he snuck away to the O.R. It was a good thing that he decided to be calm and quiet because there were people waiting outside the room.

      V wanted to turn around and get out of there but someone already saw him and stood to walk over to where he was. 'No! Great, now what am I supposed to do?!' he thought, panicking.

      His feet didn't move. He frantically urged his legs to start walking. He was able to take just one step before the man clapped him on the shoulder, "Yes? Can I help you?"

      'Ugh crap! Hurry! Think of something!' he thought, but he couldn't think of any excuse. Instead he said, "Uh - I came to check on my friend...I heard he's in the O.R. now..."

      The handsome young man looked tired. But when V looked closely, the man looked so familiar! 'Min-ji's brother?!' he thought. V was truly in it now.  The man looked behind him and scrunched his eyebrows together, "Uh - I don't think anybody else in being operated on at the moment..." he said.

'Uh oh - I'm done for-' he thought.

      V opened his mouth to spew forth some more lies but the doors to the O.R. opened, which distracted the handsome young man. The two elder people, who V guessed were Min-ji's parents - stood to meet the doctor.

      "Mr. and Mrs. Song, the good news is that the operation was a success but she is in a coma...Let's pray that she gets better before the 72 hours are over - or it could mean the worst for her...." the doctor then bowed politely at them and went on his way.

      The family huddled quietly together - in their grief.

V felt a physical blow to his gut.

'Min-ji?! Min-ji, you've got to survive! You have to....!' he prayed over and over.
