Chapter 14 Trouble

V was not nervous at all.

Well, of course he was nervous. His whole body felt like it wanted to burst out of his skin. He was somber as he walked alone the corridor leading to the CEO's office. Mr. Bang was a fair man and he wouldn't have called him for no reason so he wondered what the reason was for being summoned here. He briefly recalled Jungkook being summoned here last year when he was involved- 'No! It must be some other stuff!' he encouraged himself.

The door opened and Mr. Go came out and gestured for him to come in. 'This is it...' he breathed deeply and walked in after their manager. V braced himself and hoped that he won't die today. He looked around the office and sighed in relief when he saw that it would only be the three of them talking.

"Taehyung, good morning. Please..sit" Mr. Bang gestured to the sofa and he himself sat across V while Mr. Go picked a chair to his left. He sat with legs apart and quickly shifted into sitting formally, noting the somewhat serious atmosphere in the office.

Mr. Bang said, "Again, I'm sorry for the trouble. It must have been shocking for you. How are you?" "Uh no problem. I'm fine Mr. Bang..." he replied while nodding. "Okay. Well, I'll get right to it. We're aware that you wanted to put college on hold, and we're fine with that. But we will support you, if and when you decide to enroll again. But a nit-picky reporter has unearthed some evidence that you are still officially enrolled in college and so he made up a nasty article..." V tuned out of the conversation right then.

He felt a blow to his gut. He thought he'd taken care of it but apparently, now his mistake has come to bite him in the-

"Taehyung?" Mr. Go and Mr. Bang had their brows furrowed in confusion.

V blushed and said, "Oh right. I'm so sorry about it. It's all my fault..." he was on his knees, on the floor, bowing low to the company execs. Mr. Go stuttered and hurriedly helped him up. "Hey - no need for that...Here's what we can do..."

Min-ji drank some juice to help her swallow the eggs. She wildly looked to Min-kyu for support but he was already gone. 'That traitor! Old git!!!' she screamed in her mind. She shrugged to cover her nervousness. 'College is almost always the reason for the fights with mom and dad - well but racing was on top of the list so...'

"You already know, mom," she said.

"Well. Tell me again and help me understand..." Mi-young stood her ground.

"I told you, I'll just skip college. What could they teach me in that psych ward any way? I've already a job at the club and when I become a pro driver-" she was standing now and gesturing with her hands but she stopped mid-sentence when she saw who came into the dining room. Her mother rose to greet him.

'Of course it had to be dad...' she thought nervously.
