"Let me Laugh Again" V Fanfiction

Chapter 8: Afternoon drive!

Min-ji noticed the dark circles under Taehyung's eyes and how red they seemed. He looked kind of tired so she decided to let him off the hook for today. "Come on - I've something to show you!" she said.

Min-ji went to the driver's seat and buckled up. She motioned for V to get in as well. His eyes seemed to pop out of his head when he saw the sleek and black Audi R8. "No lesson today?" he asked nervously. Min-ji laughed because she heard the fear in his voice. "Nope! You look tired - so we won't bother. Instead, I'll drive you around in this baby...." she said as she revved up the engine.

V made sure his seat belt was secure and tried not to grip the sides of the car. She backed away slowly and turned into the highway. V relaxed when he saw that Min-ji was also relaxed behind the wheel. He asked her, "When did you start driving?" Min-ji thought a moment and answered, "Since I was 5. I was into karting and we didn't really need a license, even if we started really young. My dad is a car freak - so I got that from him..."

V was impressed. So he said, "Wow! That's pretty awesome!! Do you compete as well?" "Not in our country. But back in Britain, I used to join all kinds of racing competitions. But we moved here so.." V didn't notice that the car was already on the freeway and they were traveling pretty fast. He resisted the urge to grip the car walls and focused on their conversation instead .

"Now enough about me. What do you do?" Min-ji asked him. "Uh - you don't know me?" V asked, incredulous. Min-ji looked at him and said, "Well, no. That's why I asked!" "I'm part of a boy group named BTS or Bangtan Boys. We're hip-hop artists..." and then he cringed.

"Bangtan?" she laughed. V laughed with her as well. "I know - I know. But the name grew on all of us and personally, I don't think any other name would suit our group..." he said it with conviction that Min-ji burst into laughter again.

"Are you sure you live in this country? I mean - we've already been in the industry for 2 years now - surely - even once have you heard of us?" V asked, again an incredulous look was on his face. Min-ji scrunched her nose and said, "I might have but I'm sorry. I don't really follow boy groups around, so..." then she shrugged.

"Ah that's fine. I'll give you our album and then you can listen to it and then you can tell me what you think..." V said seriously. "Oooo - kaaaay. Thanks - but isn't it just a ploy to get yourself a 2nd date with me?" she asked.

For a moment, V froze and looked at her, hard. Min-ji froze too, as if she was shocked that she said all those things. They stared into each others eyes and then cracked up at the same time. They laughed for a long time.

Min-ji liked hearing Taehyung's laugh while he liked her laugh as well. They were still laughing when Min-ji parked the Audi into its garage. "Now - where are we off to?" she asked

V smiled a killer smile and said, "Now it's my turn to show you something!"
