As Zoe drove through Enterprise on her way home from work, she attempted to visualise the conversation she would have with Daredevil about the project. "I wonder what would he say?" She thought. "Would he respond?" Anyway, she may not necessarily have to talk to him one on one because a community meeting would be called. Then again, she may have to encourage him to come out to the meeting, because the thugs are never at the usual community meetings. She usually saw him on the block every evening on her way home from work. When he noticed her, he would stare the same way he had been staring for the past fourteen years. Could she conjure up the courage to stop and give him a heads up about the meeting? She wondered. Zoe's heart began to race as she approached the block. She heard rap music before she turned the corner. When she turned the corner, she saw Daredevil scanting skilfully. She was going to do this. She took a deep breath, looked in the mirror, set her face to appear not afraid and switched off her vehicle. Her heart was pounding as she stepped out of the vehicle and locked it. She straightened her skirt and blouse and walked slowly toward the group of cheering men.
Some of the men sat on concrete blocks, others on upside down buckets, some were standing. Some were smoking. The men facing Zoe noticed her approaching and one turned off the music. Daredevil who was facing the crowd and not Zoe enquired "Ey, wa is da one boy?" He sounded cheerful, which gave her a little comfort. Her heart was beating rapidly now. She wondered if she appeared frightened. Her hands were fiddling with each other in front her and were moist now. One of the men raised his head to signal to Daredevil that someone was behind him. He turned around and was startled by Zoe approaching, such that he turned back quickly to face the group of men before turning around again to stare at her walking slowly toward them. His heart began to race marathons. He wondered if he appeared too startled and straightened his long vest which flowed unto his hips, just enough to conceal his boxers peeping out from under his trousers. He also wore his notable bandanna tied around his cornrowed head, a large silver chain and one side of diamond earing. "Pssst. Sexy." Sure thing teased, standing up to address Zoe. He wore a large white t-shirt, baggy jeans, a large gold chain, a pair of large, gold, marijuana shaped earings and he had a plate of gold teeth and tattoos on his face. "Wa ah could do to yuh today love?" Sure thing queried. Daredevil glared at Sure thing, who in turned chuckled and restated "Ah mean, wa ah could do fi yuh?" as he stepped up closer to her and looked at her from head to toe slowly, licking his lips. Zoe stepped back. "Doh fraid liddle lady," another teased "We doh bite,... much." A few of the men chuckled. Daredevil was still glaring. "Actually," Zoe began "I'm here to talk to whoever in charge here." Sure thing looked around at the other men and suddenly burst out into laughter. All the other men except Daredevil followed suit. Zoe frowned but waited. Daredevil stared at her confused. She noticed his stare from the corner of her eye and looked at him, but he looked away.
After bending, twisting and spinning in laughter, Sure thing consoled himself and approached Zoe again. "Yuh want to talk to who in charge? Ha! Yuh sure yuh could handle dat babe? Yuh want to speak to de man, man or yuh want to speak to who in charge ah de guns, or who in charge ah de drugs, or who in charge ah de paper?" Zoe felt her heart skip a beat. What had she gotten herself into? She thought. She managed to speak, trying not to sound affected by what Sure thing just asked. "The one in charge of di block. Wh-who takes charge of di games and lime on de block and so forth." Sure thing puffed a laugh. Opening his arms wide, he announced "Well yuh talkin to him." Zoe looked at Daredevil who had now closed his eyes, bowed and shook his head. She thought Daredevil was in charge. "Was he?" she wondered. "So wa ah cud do fi yuh?" "Well, um, I tought, ... someone else was in charge." She related in a questioning manner, as she glanced at Daredevil. On hearing this, Daredevil opened his eyes wide and looked at her. Sure thing noticed her looking at Daredevil and began to laugh scandalously while spinning, bending and twisting. He then stopped, looked Daredevil, looked at Zoe, then back at Daredevil, then at Zoe. Daredevil, frowned and shook his head. Staring at Zoe, Sure thing smiled, then informed "He still like yuh ehno." At this, Daredevil rushed up behind Sure thing. Without turning around, Sure thing held up his hand to signal Daredevil to stop. Daredevil stopped. Sure thing stared into the distance for a moment then turned around and collared Daredevil. He then let him go, dusted and straightened Daredevil's vest. All the while, Daredevil was furious and puffed huge amounts of air through his nose. Grinning, Sure thing announced, "Daredevil, de lady. Lady, meet Daredevil. Have fun." Sure thing referred the two to eachother. He then whispered something in Daredevil's ear that made his Daredevil's nose flare and eyes roll. Sure thing walked back to the group of men and gave one of them a five as he chuckled.
