Chapter 8: Rise of a King

Everyone except Apollo, who stayed behind to care for Carno, flies over the throne room and IcedSapphire summons her father, the King. The throne room is lined with the guard and try to take MoonzShadow as soon as they see her but IcedSapphire and Abraxas shield their sister and IcedSapphire orders them back. It appears the guards do not recognize Abraxas. Then they become stiff and silent. There is a shadow that comes over the room and the sound of wings is heard. The King, lands in his throne looking proud and stern. He has a horrible look in his eyes as he looks at his daughter, he does recognize his own son. It's been so long and his heart so dark no light is able to come into it.

IcedSapphire_SnowyOwl: (Bows) Father, I have to speak to you and so does everyone else here. I know you are busy with the moon and all but it is extremely urgent.

Abraxas_Albino Peacock: (Bows) It is of the utmost urgency that we have this audience with you.

King_Great-Horned Owl: (Walks down the steps and peers at his daughter, along with the other birds) IcedSapphire, I'm extremely disappointed in you. You bring these...these birds to my hollow. You know better than to bother me in times like this. I should lock you in your hollow for a month for this. Any more of this and I shall have your wings clipped! And you are the rest of you go on, don't just stand there, if you have a purpose then speak, otherwise leave my sight.

Abraxas_Albino Peacock: Father! How can you be so rude in a time such as this! We wouldn't just show up uninvited if we didn't have a purpose of being here! Threatening my sister because she brings other birds here? Even if we weren't family why should it matter in the first place? You disappoint me father and I think it's time that you know your place! Acting with such impudence and immaturity. How dare you!

King_Great-Horned Owl: What in the name...Abraxas is that you? By the stars it is! (starts circling the group) You think you have the right to just show up here and call me those things, huh? Well where were you when your birds needed you, huh? What nothing to say, oh yes you always were so hot headed. Maybe I'll have you and your sisters' wings clipped, how about that! Then we will see how brave you are. (Abraxas goes to say something) What was that boy, how dare you! (The King raises his wing and goes to slap Abraxas but IcedSapphire interjects and gets hit instead and is knocked out cold)

Abraxas_Albino Peacock: *looks in horror as IcedSapphire is knocked out* S-Sis...ter...SISTER! *runs to her and glares at the Great-Horned Owl* You would dare raise your wing at me! And then have the nerve to hit your OWN daughter! This type of behavior is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE *eyes begin to glow a ruby color* I will be sure to make you regret ALL of the decisions you have made. Those of which have hurt our family to the fullest extent!! This type of behavior from our "beloved King"? What if our fellow birds saw you acting in such a manner?! You're no king! You're no father! You're nothing! You're a coward! And these types of actions PROVES my point! *gets up and takes three steps toward the King, wings bunched up in anger*

King_Great-Horned Owl: What are going to do about it boy? There's nothing you can do! I AM KING AND NO ONE IS TAKING THAT POWER FROM ME! The only way to win this kingdom is a fight to the death! Are you really willing to risk your life for HER?! She's just a bird! Now come on boy, what's your choice life or death?

Abraxas_Albino Peacock: If it means taking this throne from you so you can no longer hurt people, and ensures the safety of my sisters, then I will fight you! YES! My own father! And you claiming she's just a bird?! Thats your DAUGHTER! How can you say such things like they're no big deal! I've had ENOUGH of this INSOLENCE! If you want a fight, you've got one! *his anger flaring*

King_Great-Horned Owl: (Has an evil deathly laugh and a shadow casts over his eyes, his wings rise and a great dark almost thick looking shadow covers the King. He stands at the ready, his eyes no longer his own, his movements no longer his own, as if he were a puppet starts walking slowly towards Abraxas) Anytime, you're ready Abraxas, too bad my claws going into your throat will be the last thing you see!!
