A Thug's Only Love: Chapter 18 [UNEDITED]

~Chanelle P.O.V.~

I saw Lexis laying on the ground in the middle of a little field, completely still. I quickly sprinted as fast as I could to get to his side.

"Oh my God Lexis!l I saw him clenching him finally move to clench his chest. I gently picked up his head. "Lexis? Stay with me." He kept his eyes on mine but I knew he was struggling to keep eye contact.

"Nelle what happened?!" Riley yelled in complete shock. She knelt by my side and looked with wide eyes.

"I don't know but call an ambulance." I said in my calmest voice. This was a terrible situation and the last thing we need is to be panicked and flustered. I scooted behind Lexis and laid his head on my thighs.

What happened?

Who did this?

Why would some one do this?

Was he going to be okay?

These were the only questions that were racing through my mind. I saw him close his eyes and I started calling his name but he wasn't responding.

The ambulance finally arrived and they quickly took him to the nearest hospital. Riley and I ran back to my house and got my car. We drove through red lights, speed bumps, and stop signs to get to the hospital.

"Family for Lexis-"

"Us." Riley and I said, cutting the doctor off.

"Well he is awake but is very weak due to loss of a substantial amount of blood but he will be alright. You are welcome to see him. Just go to room 414." He said with a reassuring smile before returning back down the hall

Riley and I made our way down the hall till we got to room 414z

"I'll let you go in first and see him, I'll see him in a few." She said as she gave me a smile and holding the door open just a little but for me.

I nodded my head and peeked my head through the door. I saw him sitting up with a smile on his face.

"Come in Ma." He said in a voice completely different from his usual deep suede voice. It had more of a low raspy tone to it.

"How you feeling?" I asked as I stepped inside the room and close the door behind me. He slowly motioned for me to sit on the edge of his bed and I carefully did just that.

"I feel weak, but I feel better now that I got you by my side." He pulled me closer to him- well tried to. I scooted over towards him and gave him a kiss on his cheek.

There was a small knock on the door before I saw Riley's platinum blonde bun show through before her face came into view.

How are you holding up?" She asked as she made her way in and sat comfortable in the chair.

"Yee, you know how I do." He said with a small smirk.

"With you two sitting on that bed together, don't be doing any freaky ass shit." She said with a funny look that had Lexis and I laughing a little bit.

"Riley, if we were gonna get freaky; Nelle wouldn't have any of her clothes on right now." Lexis said between his cute small laughs.

"Oh my God Lexis!" I blushed and quickly hid my cheeks with my hands.

"Aw Nelle, I'm only playin' around."

"No he isn't." Riley's smartass said.

We sat with him for about half an hour. I didn't wanna ask him what happened just yet. I wanted to let him relax but I was gonna find out what happened.

I shot Lexis. I could have swore I killed him. It was a drive by so I couldn't make sure he was dead. It looked like I shot him in the chest so I know he had to have died. No one was around so he sure as hell ain't gettin no help.

~Arlie P.O.V.~

"Javier! Where the fuck Varo at?!? We got to go now!!!" I yelled

"I don't know, did he go upstairs?!"

"We gotta get out, the building about to fall!"

"We can't leave Varo!"

"We gonna die if we stay in here! I bet he outside anyways!" I grabbed Javier and ran out the building. We watched the building fall to pieces. We had no idea where Varo was.

"Is Varo..." Javier said, but he couldn't finish his sentence.

"I bet he is fine. He's Varo."

We were all cut up, bruised, and had some burns along our arms. I don't really know what the fuck just happened.

"Lets go to my moms crib and have her help clean us up." I said.

I tried calling Lexis but no answer. I called Chanelle and she told me she was at the hospital with him.

"Javier, we're gonna go to the hospital first. Lexis is in there." I sped off down to the hospital. I was in so much pain but I didn't care.

I pulled up and walked in. The nurses tried to give us help but we shrugged them off. We found out what room and busted into the room.

"Whoa, what the fuck happened to y'all?" Lexis said.

"We got fucked up. Varo was with us but we don't know where his ass is." Javier said.

"What the fuck happened to you?" I asked.

"I got shot. It was a fuckin drive by. I couldn't see who it was but I was shot in the chest. Luckily Chanelle and Riley was walkin, they found me. Called the ambulance and now we here." He said.

"Damn. Well I'm glad you aight. Look Javier and I needa get our cuts cleaned up. We will be back later on." I dapped Lexis and gave Chanelle and Riley a hug.

We pulled up to my moms but the house was empty.

"Where yo mom at?" Javier asked.

"Shit. I think she took Nicole to see her grandpa in San Francisco."

"Looks like we gotta do more shit ourselves." He sighed.

"Do you not hear yourself? We sound so lazy." I laughed.

We cleaned our cuts and treated our burns. All I wanna know is; what went wrong?
